I feel like I’m in a time warp of some sort. This has been set up for a while hasn’t it? I see no one has mentioned it yet in this thread though.

This matchup was booked in August of 2018, I'm guessing this release is just the details/agreement finalization

What does a game in Nola or Orlando do for you? It’s dumb

I would assume make more money.

I don't get it. Tiger Stadium seats 25k more than the Superdome and we own the building. Who is paying us more money to play the neutral site?

Camping world is a dump but whatever the Superdome is always fun to play in

Instead of both teams getting one big payout at their own stadium, both teams now get two big payouts at stadiums in which I'm assuming overhead is not a concern for them. There are several other factors like TV's influence over actually good opening week matchups that cause these games to happen as well, but every team that participates in these games are definitely coming out better than had they just done a home and home.

Exactly! And a nod to Harry Caray as well, who replied about the same time as you.

This sure seems to be news to a lot of people here though.

The payout from the people running the game is going to be in the $3 mil range. More than what we would make bringing FSU to BR.

TV network. Neutral site games are not covered under the SEC TV contract so that money goes directly to LSU. It's not shared with the other 13 SEC schools.

This series will make several million $ more than the Texas series.

My wife is an FSU alum, nola isn't too far away. Definitely going to plan on going. Awesome.

Not if they don't get up off the mat by then.

neutral site games blow and are basically a middle finger to your season ticket holders ...but it is what it is these days in CFB.

its why I hope the CFP expands and teams get a home game as its the only way we'll consistently get unique match ups at actual college venues.

They're actually tapering off significantly for us and for Alabama (starting after next year for them). This is the only set we have left on the schedule for about a decade. We have home and homes scheduled with UCLA, Clemson, Oklahoma, and ASU.

You get teams like LSU and Wisconsin known for some of the best college environments to watch a game, instead played in corporate events at NFL stadiums.

Lambeau was awesome. Camping World stadium doesn't really do anything for me.

Why can’t we just do a home and home?

FSU would’ve been an awesome experience to go to

Doak is fun. You can always go for a different game.

I suspect that FSU needed the neutral site money.

Has nothing to do with it. ESPN paid LSU 4 mil to play BYU a couple of years ago.
