Two questions for you bird brain.
Ah…. You’ve resorted to your typical childish insults. Not sure why you felt that was necessary but ok.

What if Nuss is actually a better QB right now than Daniels? Should anyone question that?
What if he hasn’t improved or gotten worse? That was a screen pass on that 70+ yard TD. Take away the YAC and the stats are roughly equal. What if his backup is better than him now? In any event, you’re drawing WAY TOO MUCH from this scrimmage.
There’s no way of knowing definitively the answer to any of those questions at present.
What you’re doing is speculating. Basically everyone is speculating. At least those who aren’t associated with the football program. And you’ve already admitted you’re not but you play poker with people who used to be so….

And I like Nuss. I know his family in a roundabout sort of way.
I’m cheering for both guys to be successful. It’s ok to do that, you know? Both have their pros and cons but they support each other. I don’t know why it has to be this or that for you.
I’ve answered your question. Please answer mine in your other gem of a thread.

I think this team is better at the beginning of season than 2019.
I HOPE the defense we roll out against FSU plays better than the 2019 defense played against Texas. As for the entire team being better week 1 than the 2019 team? Well the lack of depth alone makes this a ridiculous statement.

so that means if we beat FSU, this team becomes better than the greatest college football team of all time?
I’m liking the sound of this!

Don't forget....Jones was NOT our starting RT in this game. Verse won't eat our lunch this year now that we have 2 legit tackles to handle him

don’t, but we should be a good team.
Kelly is liking the play of his secondary lately, which is considered LSU’s only weakness. LSU should be great, simply because they have talent everywhere on offense, and the missing pieces on defense appear to be solved in the secondary.

Fla State doesn’t have a clue what’s coming their way.

As stated earlier, we are better up front on both sides of the ball and defense will be better at the start of season. Now do i think they will be better at the end of the seaon, no. But i also dont think you have to be better at the end to win the Natty, because 2019 is the greatest team ever. Up to CBK and his crew to improve them over the course of the season.

What separated the 2019 team was how much they improved as season went along. They didnt look like world beater against a not real good team

The 2019 championship team started out the season with impressive wins. The Texas QB Ellinger was elusive, a very good college QB.

8-5 is not a good team especually in a conference with maybe two good teams in each year. QB was overhyped as well just like Texas is every year. Texas has beem relevant only a couple times in my lifetime. And i am not a youngster.

Very nice post I agree 100% with this take

Texas in 2019 was the same script as Texas in 2022: Play out of their minds in an early game (LSU '19; Bama '22), lose close, and then lose four more games in a forgettable season. Florida State 2023 is a more complete team than Texas 2019.
The team that Florida State '23 reminds me most of is ... LSU '23. It will be a war.

Maybe a game winning special teams play versus a game losing special teams play this year.

Not sure where all the hate is coming from. Going INTO 2019, we weren't all that hyped on what we had.
I remember thinking the team would be good, but yeah nobody (or very few people) thought the team would be that good.
But the guy is catching flak because he’s saying he thinks this team will be better than the best team in LSU history at the beginning of the season. I don’t think it really matters what we knew prior to the 2019 season. We now have the benefit of hindsight and knowing that we had a Heisman QB and like 9 future NFL starters on offense.
I think you make some good points but hype doesn’t mean much until we see the finished product on the field. Until then, it’s a pretty hot take for someone to say they think it’ll be better than 2019 in any way.

Right now, we're 2 weeks away from the opener. We're ranked in the top 10 (most polls around 5), are the defending West champs, return a ton, and our QB is touted as the best in the SEC and on the short list for the Heisman.
That's ahead of where we were in 2019 2 weeks before the opener.
We killed Ga Southern in the opener, but that was a cupcake. *some of our biggest cupcake wins came in bad seasons, we beat Colorado State 77 to something, in one of Hallman's years.
Texas was a thrilling game, we did have some trouble running the ball, but Burrow was out of his mind, and won the shootout against Ehlinger. We then killed 3 more cupcakes- Northwestern St, Utah State, and Vandy.
Tons of numbers put up, but only 1 legitimate game, and that was a 7 pt win in a shootout.
We then beat Fla, Miss State (blowout), Auburn and Bama in good, tightly contested games. Don't say Bama was a beatdown, we won by 5 and they had an onside kick attempt. Auburn was a 3 pt win, Fla was 2 TDs but fought us all game, was up 28-21 in the 2nd half.
2019 was amazing, in large part, because Burrow was great every single game. And we needed him to be, in 4 of the games listed.

Ipodking is fantasizing about FSU, while he lays down in the corner of his bedroom with a bottle of hand lotion.

So will JD, Malik Nabers, Brian Thomas, Josh Williams, John Emery, Maason Smith, Heisman winner Harold Perkins, and Denver Harris. Those are my best contributors to week 1 vs FSU

One changer not mentioned. K. Jackson the freshman phenom.
