I ventured over to fishduck.com to check out the analysis fishduck put together on the game. I really enjoyed some of his videos about the Oregon O that he posted in the weeks leading up to the game.

While there, I was reading this [link=(article)]https://fishduck.com/2011/09/it-wasnt-all-bad/[/link]and a few things jumped out that I took issue with.

The first is "Despite the final outcome on the scoreboard, LSU actually did very little to win the game, except to say thank you very much for the gift fumbles close to the endzone and politely capitalize on these perfect opportunities."

They completely ignore the fact that our defense pummeled their players all game long. Even in the 1st quarter the Duck WRs short armed catches over the middle. I kept waiting to see Thomas keep one of the Zone Reads and show why he is such an explosive player but he seemed content to let James and the rest of the Duck RBs take all the punishment.

Secondly, "This is why almost every contender chooses to play patsies in week 1 rather than a competitive foe, though how the SEC gets a pass for also scheduling joke games in mid-November is beyond me."

This is completely laughable. The reason the SEC plays breather games is because we don't get the luxury of playing 2 hand touch football for 9 weeks during the middle of the season.

The Ducks had 9 months to prepare themselves for the physicality of ONE SEC team and they wilted and played scared football once LSU started hitting them in the mouth.

You think if there was a follow up game in Tuscaloosa in two weeks they wouldn't prefer to work in a Portland State type team to let some bumps and bruise heal? As great as LSUs defense is, the Ducks may not even come back out of the tunnel for the 2nd half after facing Bama's 4 All SEC 1st team defenders (For comparison, LSU has 1)

I'm not trying to jump on all Ducks in the post. I applaud them for taking the game and they seem to be willing to play SEC teams OOC, but the turnovers didn't lose the game for you, your timidness did.

Does he think Oregon just magically dropped the ball allowing us to get it?

Too much is made of the adage that the team that wins the turnover battle wins the game. Many times it's that the team that wins the game wins the turnover battle.

I haven't checked in on Oregon message boards yet but I wonder what they are saying about our turnover. It was as much a gift as any of their 4.

In his defense, Fishduck didn't write that post. It was another write on the site that did.

Yeah at least with their turnovers we actually had to make a play to cause them. Our's was just given away on a snap to no one, and what did they do with that "gift"? They kicked a FG instead of slamming it into the endzone.

That quote right there displays a level of stupidity and arrogance usually reserved for politicians.

LSU did "very little to win the game?" I only hope he was dead-assed drunk when he wrote that manure. Yeah, I guess Montgomery, Loston and Mathieu had NOTHING to do with their guys suddenly giving LSU the ball.

Even so, where was that vaunted UO defense? Couldn't hold LSU's pathetic offense out of the end zone, even when they knew there was an 80 percent chance that LSU was going to run it?

I only hope the team doesn't have the attitude about the game that this d'bag fan has.

Over the past few years, we've had some good back and forth with our opposition. Fans of Ohio State, WV, and remember App state? Those guys were great - in fact I really enjoyed the back and forth. I think some of them still hang around here. It looks like Oregon fans are a bunch of douches. What is it with the West Coast?

Oregon got their asses beat. If the game went any further, their Oline and Dline would have ended up in the hospital. Sure - we appreciate the fumbles - but they seem to conveniently forget that 1/2 of their points came against our 2nd team playing prevent D. Give me a freaking break.

Do they really think the outcome would be any different if we played that game again?

I thought fishduck was better than that. His vids on UO's offense were good, but that shite's just plain pathetic.....

ETA - just read this:

So fishduck still knows his football, it's the clowns on his site that are delusional!
