I would definitely try to make Pat O'Brien's and have a Pete Special as well.

Wear your gear. Seriously. You'll stand out but in a good way. Probably get a few Tiger bait chants but it's in good fun. LSU fans are proud of the fact that the tailgating and stadium experience are a CFB bucket list trip and you wont be the first outsider to make the trip. People will likely see the Ohio State gear and start a conversation with you, invite you for some food & drink etc.

any seating sections we should avoid/target would be appreciated.

Avoid the east side of the South endzone and the east uppers. The Bama band sits in the curve of the south east endzone plus they bring a lot of fans that sit in that area. The LSU band is in the north endzone ans youll want to be able to hear them.

Anywhere in the lower bowl is what I would recommend as far as tickets.

Don’t be afraid of the West Upper as long as you are in the lower rows. I’m on the 35 yard line and have a great view. Avoid the East side in case it would be a day game. Sun can be brutal over there, even in November.

I will concur. the upper chairbacks (rows 1-9) in 614-617 are good seats. We have season tickets there. I personally think the seats in the center part of west tiger terrace (514-5-18) may be the best seats they have. Still upper deck but right on the front.

Otherwise west lower bowl for viewing from about rows 30-60 are hard to beat but usually very expensive.

South End zone seats have traditionally had some of the rowdiest LSU fans and can be really fun but occasionally a little sketchy Best cheap seats you'll typically get IMO but as I've gotten older I prefer where we are now.

I hope you have a blast.

You'll get a LOT of useless info...

My opinion, get to campus early, wear OSU attire, eat & drink as much as your heart desires.

Campus will be full & at it's best

If responses like this are representative of the fan base, I would say we are in for a great experience. I'll do some research before coming, but these suggestions are helpful.

Glad to help! I have rarely come across a rude person at an LSU game and I've been going for 27 years, turning 29 next week. Only times I've seen different is when someone gets way too drunk tailgating or at the game, or we're playing like shite and lose. Then people can get rowdy. LSU fans are generally very good people and love to talk to new people and make friends. I can almost guarantee this won't the last time you guys come down for a game! It really gets in your blood. The energy on campus for big games is... God, I don't know. Electric would be a good word but you also have a feeling of love and togetherness all around. It's just something you have to experience. You'll never forget it. I went to every home game in '03 sans Western Carolina and it had a huge impact on me as a 10 year old. Went to the natty against Oklahoma and cried when the clock ran out. Saw grown men crying they were so happy. LSU is different. Very happy to hear yall are going to get to experience it. I'd suggest splurging a bit and getting really good tickets for the game.

Take Thursday off too. Get to New Orleans for a couple of days to enjoy the city and have more than one dinner.
Drive up Saturday morning. Hotels may be booked already, if so, drive back to NO.

Wear your gear. People will invite you to have a beer and some gumbo. You and your wife need to wear sports shoes as you will walk a lot. Southern people act like Irish people. They will tease you a little but they mean it in a friendly way. It will probably be the friendliest place you will ever be.

I’d rather spend the night in BR, get up early, drive by Coffee Call and get a bag of beignet fingers and a cafe au lait and get to campus as soon as I can.

Other games, you can show up at 11-12 and find a spot, but you better get there by 9 am at the latest if you want a decent place to park. 100,000 at the game and probably an additional 50K on campus for the tailgating - ALL DAY!

For Bama games, the lots start filling up at 5 PM Friday. Be in BR early Saturday lol

Please do wear Ohio State gear. Otherwise you will blend in like any other fan. Expect a few “thanks for Joe Burrow, fool’. All in good fun. I hope you have an unforgettable experience and please report back here afterwards.

Eat HERE in New Orleans. It’s uptown so it’ll be a short Uber ride.

You won’t be sorry.

I would skip NOLA and just spend Friday in BR. You could eat at Chimes and enjoy a college bar with good food. Saturday, I would get there early. I would also wear you Ohio St jersey and walk around. You will eat things you cannot pronounce, but it will all be great.
