I’m honestly at the point where I am willing to give anyone a chance. I like some better than others, but I will be happy to give whomever SW chooses a chance to prove themselves.

He’s not coming to LSU, and it’s not because he’ll turn LSU down, either.
He may be waiting for Day to get run.

I would love to have Fickell here, and think that it's a possibility, but the thought that he will come because people in Cincinnati like the starting quarterback of the Bengals and you have seen people walking around in LSU shirts is hilarious.

I want Fickell or Freeze.
Freeze prob is unrealistic so we ride with Fickell.

He’d be a great hire. Not saying he’ll be the dude, but he’d also be insane not to jump at an opportunity like LSU.

Mike Bohn is USC’s AD, he was hired in 2019 from guess where….University of Cincinnati. He hired Fickel at Cinnci. I think there is a great chance he brings Fickel to USC.

I do not want Kiffin. For 16 years we have been stuck with coaches that are more “characters” than they are coaches. Just give me a normal dude that knows how to run a program. I don’t need a mad hatter, a shrimp boat capn, or Joey freshwater
Or Urban the taint groper...

I would be happy with Fickle..LSU has resources and advantages for days....just need someone who can run and maintain a program at a high level.....Fickle can be that guy.

Starting to feel this way about kiffin also. The more I think about it, I just want someone who is professional and doesn’t cause distractions.

And in that 16 years LSU has gone 162-50; played for 3 National Championships and won 2. Only ONE school can say they've had a better run during those 16 years.
I'm not saying they have to hire a "character". But it seems, overall, those characters have done a pretty damn good job relative to the rest of college football. And it another "character" is the guy to improve upon or just continue that success, then bring him on.
ALL that should matter from a fan's perspective are the RESULTS...end of discussion

I honestly can't believe people actually want James Franklin. Dude is a total clown.
I would take Kiffin up until his beatdown from Bama last week. His pregame interview shows he is still immature. Would turn out to be Orgeron 2.0 after 2-3 successful years.
Give me Fickell all day. You think SEC money is good right now- the current conference contract with CBS is $55 million and it is being replaced by ESPN/ABC for $300 million. I think that is more than enough to lure him here no matter what his ties are.

Your point about a serious coach to impose order and discipline within LSU football is compelling. The goofy clown show has to be brought to a quick and complete conclusion. I believe Coach Fickell is the guy to do that. He is an actual football coach, not just a cheerleader.

Back to the Westbank with this nonsense...shrimp boots forever...

Definitely don't want Joey Freshwater.... FYI, it's a trawl boat not a shrimp boat. No real fisherman calls it a shrimp boat

My concerns about Fickell are:
(1) His experience - he's only been a head coach for five seasons at Cincinnati, a non-power 5 school (six if you include that Ohio State interim year); and
(2) He is so deeply entrenched in Ohio - went to Ohio State, coached at Akron, Ohio State, and now Cincinnati. Football wise, it's undoubtedly a top-5 state, but what are his connections (recruiting wise) with high school coaches in Louisiana and the southeast?

It will be Fickell. He will come.
This is the obvious move. The biggest reason i say it won't happen is because rarely the obvious comes to fruition.
