Feeling more optimistic this AM than usual

The negatives are definitely there, and I’m sure I’ll be DV’d and get just simple responses like Baker & Leavitt suck etc. okay fair.
But the team showed something last night that honestly I did not expect. Being down 17 at half.. stadium full throat and rocking… I really believed we would get run out of the building and it simply would not be our night.
No, we put together 17 unanswered and a stifling defensive Q3. We put ourselves in position to even go up 28-24 had we not had false start in the goal line.
That environment was quite possibly one of the most hostile you could ever draw up. Put your pride away.. that environment was on par or maybe better than some of the loudest TS games in our history. You had their entire state from fans to the damn governor there yelling with hatred. Not to mention we had to face a 24 year old kid who is in the midst of a heisman like season.
It affected us and the outcome of the game, but even with all that we still nearly won.
Are the deficiencies real, 1000%. But we are allowed to improve. Baker is allowed to change his thinking and call games differently in the future… it is possible Leavitt gels and throws before running.
I saw heart and a team that quite honestly just needs more reps. Take away the BS false starts and self imposed shite, we may be having coffee this morning over a W.
Lane is the right hire and it’s gonna work out.

Reed gonna drag his nuts across Baker’s face for the 3rd year in a row.

Lane may work out, but not with this roster.

It was a tough place to play and we struggled
Despite it all, it came down to one play at the end of the game.
And the pass was off. If that pass is on the money, we have a decent chance to tie and then who knows….
So despite how well ole miss played, and they played well, it came down to that one play.

So many bitches on this board. We lost our first road game against the best QB in the country with a completely new team and system made up of 60+ transfer players. And we lost by one possession after going down 17-0.
I’m bullish on this team. You could see the maturation and development in the 2nd half. Our coaching staff is miles better this year.
Give the man a fricking ounce of grace.

Despite our terrible start, we are two plays from winning it. A TD instead of the FG and then score at the end. Those are fixable issues.
We just played the best QB in the country, on the road, in the most hostile environment we will play for years and the guys clawed back with a chance to win it.
The gloom and doom fans are emotional teenagers.

Correct. OM was out for blood in a way I have never seen, and our boys looked down right rattled. OM got in their heads bad at first and they couldn't get a groove. No excuses, obviously, but clearly they remembered who they were 2nd half.

Way too many of Leavitt’s passes are off
The one to 44 at the end in just inexcusable for a QB at this level with his experience.
Zero star HS QBs could make that throw

Agreed with everything but the them being as loud as us part. As somebody who’s been there for multiple LSU games , they are no where near as loud as at there best. You watch your fricking mouth about Tiger Stadium

Can’t be stressed enough how brutal that was. We had every bit of momentum and I would have loved to see how it played out with Chambliss coming in for the first time playing from behind and how he responded to that pressure.
He was nails all night so he probably responds, but you could tell the guy didn’t have a care in the world all night and would have been nice to see him sweat a bit.

This is the clearest thing to me.
How anyone can be so down at this point as to question the hire absolutely blows my fricking mind
Like seriously WTF is wrong with people. It’s honestly indicative of societal and civilizational decay that people can be so reactionary and short sighted

I’m exactly where you are. Shocking myself, I’m oddly ok. We were able to take it to the last couple of minutes when they had all the tools/players/environment on their side. You can spend all the money in the world on the roster. They still have to play together and this was game 3. Not hanging my head. We will be fine.

Yeah same.
In years prior I would be depressed because it meant we had little to no chance going forward. But we have good talent and good coaching, it showed. This season isn’t lost yet.

That’s so not true. If our guys are intimidated by Vaught-Hemingway stadium, then we are well and truly screwed when we go to the likes of Auburn and Tennessee. Ole Miss’ stadium on its best day wouldn’t crack a top 10 crowd at Tiger Stadium.

Tennessee on 11/21 is not going to be the easy win I had predicted in the preseason.
Posted on 9/20/26 at 9:10 am to Yaboylsu63
The team will be fine. The emo "men" melting down this morning need to be expunged from the fanbase.
If last night's game was under BK, we would have folded the tents down 24-7

I was giving Lane a mulligan for this year anyway. I was hoping our offense would be more fun to watch.

You are being dishonest.
Everyone, Fowler and Kirk, the radio staff all made comments on how that scene was unworldly loud. 60k people screaming with pure hatred for being spurned can be very intimidating. stop tying to diminish it.
