97 Indy Bowl because of how far LSU had fallen the previous couple of years. And playing in the snow.

Beating the Hogs and ending their win streak was a great bowl victory for the Tigers. Pretty sure that is AD at that time Jim Corbett that Mac is hugging in the picture after the game.

- ‘87 Gator Bowl vs non SEC member South Carolina. SC had the “Black Death” defense and had National Champion Miami on the ropes that year, losing 20-16. Their D was predicted to smother us, but we manhandled them 30-13. At that point that was only the 2nd bowl win in like 15 years so it was sweet.
This was huge at the time. It set up Archer up for what was going to be a championship run in 1988. Yeah, it didn't QUITE work out that way but those mid-80's teams were fun.

2002 Sugar Bowl vs Illinois was such a defining moment for that successful era of LSU football. What it signified was that we were a power in the making.

Sugar
1968
Undefeated and ranked 6th Wyoming
Nelson Stokely was on fire in the comeback
Oh and Wyoming had a RB by the name if Jim Kiick. Y’all probably heard of him.

This one is mine as well.
I especially remember all of the South Carolina fans (about 75% of the stadium) taking off their black sweatshirts after the second Hodson to Davis TD made it 14-0 in the first quarter. They knew.

This, because it was the beginning of a new Era of LSU football glory.

My favorite is the 1966 victory in the Cotton Bowl. Arkansas came in as the defending national champion riding a 22-game winning streak. The Hogs were ranked number 2, and most fans were predicting an easy win over the 7-3 Tigers. According to Coach McClendon, an Arkansas fan who was within earshot of the Tigers yelled, " Hey look, I can't believe that they bothered to show up . " The Tigers pulled a huge upset by beating the Hogs 14 - 7.

2002 Sugar Bowl.
Bowl wins are always great, but that one was special for me.
Up until then, seemed like you just hoped LSU wouldn't be embarrassed whenever it got to a big bowl.

No on is saying Illinois in the Sugar Bowl? Rohan Davey and Josh Reed were unstoppable. I guess non championship, you could also count the 2019 Peach Bowl (Semi-Final).
