re: Fans at Tiger Stadium in disbelief, “WTF is he doing” going for two?” Then pandemonium!

I genuinely would not be upset had we not gotten the 2 pointer there. I much rather go for the win under those circumstances right there than allow for any more refs f-ery .
When I saw they were going for two I was so happy.
I don't agree with going for 2 for a win in regulation, but I definitely do in OT under those circumstances.

I think that was the reaction of every household as well.

My grandparents came over to my watch party.
While my crew was split down the middle over the decision, my 82 year old, very reserved grandpa said “frick it, go for 2” right after the TD. Nobody dared argue with him.

My cousin was at the game, showed me a video of LSU fans all freaking out when LSU lined up for two point conversion. “WTF is he doing” said one. Seemingly everyone was sort of questioning LSU coach’s decision.
Weird. I was in the stadium & didn’t question the decision. Maybe a “Here we go, this is it”. Sounds like your cousin needs to get aligned

I just thought, “wow, Kelly has some balls. Ok let’s geaux!” In hindsight it was very logical given what the refs were doing.

It’s always nerve wracking in the moment but it really did make sense for a few reasons:
1) Nightmares from the FSU game. Granted we haven’t had XP issues since that game but could you imagine the terror if it happened again?
2) Dont want Bryce Young the defending Heisman winner to touch the ball again
3) 2 TD underdogs and you have them on the ropes after that big JD5 run. Even if you lose you were “supposed to lose” anyway

Nope big dick Brian does not leave it to the refs to decide.
Our coach learned in the first game what its like trying to beat REC and Bama. I just was surprised he decided to go for it in that situation. The game down to one play. That was the direction the game was going anyway, why not fast forward 30 minutes. I like the call no matter what happened, but I am happy it worked.

After all the special team gaffes, I believe Kelly also had to think I’d rather lose this game going for it than a flunky block or miss

Bama was clicking at the end of that game. What people were not realizing was ………so was Daniels and the LsU offense. When we hit that td on the first play on offense, we had them on their heals. Was the right call.

Going for 2 to end the game showed the confidence between coach and player. Amazing call.
People around me were freaking out as well. I would have been disappointed in the loss had we not gotten it obviously but I was glad he went for it.

I was driving at the time with my wife giving me play by play. I was like.... I'm 100% good with him going for 2 to win it. It's a gutsy play, but I wouldn't have been mad if it hadn't worked out. I would have been disappointed just because of a loss, but it wouldn't have been a bad call. When you have a chance to put Bama away, you need to do it.

Knowing the rules of OT, who we were playing and being only 3 yards away from victory… you go for it! Right call at the right time.

Our group was calling go for 2 the second we scored.

I think 98% of viewers were thinking the same. It was so fast. Then, Okay We Riding.
It was such a moment.
It was such a statement.
It was beautiful.

We were in the stands saying if Bama scored and goes up 7 we should just go for 2 if we end up scoring. Don’t give the refs any more chances to affect the outcome in more overtimes. I’m surprised so many people were shocked and questioning the move. Win the damn game!

At first when they lined up, I said frick they are going to miss the 2 and lose because that almost always happens when the coach takes the shot. Then they showed the replay of the TD during the timeout and I got this feeling of quiet confidence because LSU blockers just blew up all the Bama defenders on that edge. Cautiously optimistic and then BAM! God bless BK for laying it on the line.

I said the exact same thing. Best to end it there, one way or another. If they had missed it, I wouldn't have changed my opinion.
