Skip your kids recital. Sure, she’ll be sad and probably develop daddy issues and end up in rehab in her 30’s as a result, but at least you got to watch the big game.

If you have already mentioned the conflict to your wife, she already thinks you want to skip the recital and will still think you suck even if you do go.

Watching on the phone will be suspect. Just stream the audio to a single AirPod in the ear opposite where your wife is sitting.
