Explain to me how this should not be interpreted as LSU folding

We took the high road, and handled it diplomatically, unlike the league.
But if the federal suit was always DOA, and the threat of expulsion was never a serious one, how can our move to comply be seen as anything other than bending the knee?
It is what’s best for LSU, which is the most important thing. But unless the embarrassment brought on the league ultimately results in Sankey’s ouster, I don’t understand the position that “the SEC blinked first.”

Because LSU never was never NOT in compliance. There was no bending because there was nothing for LSU to undo.
LSU never had any lawsuits to back down from, unlike the SEC, who DID do that.

To OP, Lane consistently said he would follow the rules and guidelines of the SEC when it came to adding players to the roster. So if that was the position all along, how can actually doing it be "folding."

Many years ago I attempted to argue with a retarded person. I quickly realize that every point they were trying to make was retarded. Instead of continuing to argue with the retard, I decided to instead say “ok you’re right” and move on with my life.

We always said we'd follow SEC policy. Nothing changed in that regard. When things were escalated by the league, we just made the decision to not risk the season over two depth pieces on our roster.

In the end, what we want is to win some football games this year and make the CFP. The outcome is that the league showed their hypocrisy and ability to overreact against a charter member of the league. Other universities might be toeing the line, but they're getting uneasy about this reaction as it might be them next.

What are you confused about? There was nothing to comply with, the SEC was filing bogus federal lawsuits. The last one they filed was to prevent LSU from stopping the vote, which we were never attempting to do anyway.

It’s ok for members of a larger organization to submit to the higher authority. It’s not ok for that higher authority to attack and punish its members for violating no rules.
LSU and SEC agreed that both are better together. LSU is happy to play by SEC rules, and has always said such.

We didn't fold. Our stance is exactly the same as it was since before the Clemson game, which was also before the SEC amended their suit in federal court, escalating the situation. They are the ones that backed off. Hence, they folded.

There are no fricking dragons here. Why does everyone insist on using this phrase. It was stupid in got and it’s even dumber in real life. Kneel or bow down. Both are shorter to type and actually describe what the other phrase is meant to describe. However you can bend your knee several ways that don’t include bowing down or kneeling.

LSU notified the SEC on Sept 4 that they were not going to add Weight or Harris to the roster.
It was not until Sept 9 that the SEC "backed off".
