Gotta beat Bama and win the west.....

I really believe most fans who knows anything about our team and the talent we will have at each position will realistically know when we have the type of team to take out Bama....we are not there yet. Wish all you want but it won't be next season.

Win something of note, like the division, the conference, a playoff berth, a playoff game, an NC. He's won nothing of note. Ever.

Agreed la_birdman.

We SHOULD beat Texas, Florida & A&M with the talent we have and we got Florida & A&M in TS which is a massive bonus but, I just see some sort of bone headed play calling or coaching meltdown in one of those games that gives us a L.

Hopefully I’m wrong and we go 11-1. Can’t wait to frickin find out

Fair enough.

I'm praying O has gotten out of that habit but like you said, we'll find out.

How are things down under? Really asking

We just finished 10-3 and the 6th best team in the country. Best rwcord we have had in 7 years, so in no way is this “routine.

We just fired a coach that won at least 10 games in 2005,2006,2007,2010,2011,2012,2013,&
2015 and they were constantly labeled as ," underachieving ".Thats (8) 10 win seasons out of 11. 10 wins should be the floor at lsu. 10 wins allows us to lose to 3 teams and there arent 3 teams in all of cfb that are vastly more talented than lsu.

Always have! Had a guy come down here for work. He grew up in Houston and went to LSU, we became great mates and I just started following LSU because of him.

Now I frickin love my tigers and follow them religiously.

It’s on the bucket list to get to BR one day and see a night game in TS. Would be epic!

One day...

We won 10 games every year but 1 from 2010-2016 and you labeled it as underachieving.

You said 2017 was good because we finished 2nd in the west but i dont see you mentioning that we got further away from winning the west.

But i still love ya

I don’t care if we go 11-1 next year. If we score no points against bama again, I’m going to lose my shite. Unless we get into the playoffs somehow, which at 11-1 is a definite possibility, unless we really get blown out in said game in which we score no points. My realistic expectation would be a 10-2 regular season, but I won’t be satisfied with less than 11 wins overall.

Anything less than 10-2 in the regular season will be a huge disappointment. I am calling Bama a loss until LSU proves they can play toe to toe with them. @ Texas will be tough. They have a lot coming back and will be rank in a similar spot as LSU. It is in Austin so this gives them the upper hand and will be favoured so that is why i give LSU a loss there. But really that game is a toss up. I don’t predict bowls, who knows where or who we will play.

I'm good as long as we win more than we lose.

I agree, 11-2 is the bottom, if it's more losses than that, it's a failed season IMO.

You have to understand context. Two toss up losses on the road to two tough sec foes, one of which was determined by the refs, made this the best season in many many years. How many years have we had a better than #6 finish in the nation over the last 20 years? NOT MANY!

How do you figure we were further from a sec west title this season compared to last? We were sec west runners up both years and finished #6 this season compared to #14 last season.

We tied aTm for Sec west runner ups this season in the official SEC rankings but had a much better season than them. In fact we finished only behind Bama in the AP poll.

Seems as if a portion of the fanbase, and Alleva of course, would be content with routine 10-3 seasons. This is alarming.

Improvement next season would entail 11-2 or better. With an easier schedule and the returning talent, 11-2 is a realistic expectation. Anything less should be cause for concern.

To say before the season what the record should be is ridiculous.

The goal every season should be to win the SEC, everything else will take care of itself.

If you are going to say 11-2, why not 13-0?

How about having 2 losses (one being in the NCG) but we play in the championship game?

According to you, that would be a fail.

That would be idiotic.

This is the best team we've had since 2011.

Perfection. Nothing less. No losses allowed or maybe coach O can't get it done no matter how good the talent is.

Playoff or bust. He has his players now, he has "his guy" at OC, he has a lot more favorable schedule. If he doesn't make the CFP, start looking at other options {clears throat} Aranda...

With the (supposed) easier schedule and all of the returning talent plus the incoming talent I expect one hell of a good season
