Win the west. Clemson stomped bama and has had 1 class over the last 5 cycles ranked higher than ours. 2018.

So the class with TL in it.

ow many years have we had a better than #6 finish in the nation over the last 20 years? NOT MANY!

We are in a year where 3 losses got us #6. Many year we were the top rated 3 loss team at 13 or 14.
#6 is the highest a 3 loss teams have ben ranked in a decade.

How do you figure we were further from a sec west title this season compared to last?

We went from 6-2( a record you used to dismiss a 4 loss season) to 5-3.

We were sec west runners up both years and finished #6 this season compared to #14 last season.

Yeah just like ole miss was 2003 sec west champs too, right?

In fact we finished only behind Bama in the AP poll.

And? We finished 5th in the sec when using tie breakers.
Both uga and bama had a better sec record and a&m & uf both beat us heads up.

HIGHEST RANKED 3 LOSS TEAM BY YEAR

2012- 14th it was lsu
2013-11th (lsu was the 2nd highest ranked 3 loss team at 14)
2014-8th
2015-10th
2016-9th
2017-9th
2018- 6th

Its a decent season and o deserves credit but if the last regime had gone 1-3 against p5 teams and had a shite offense, the mantra would be the losses and not #6 finish.

This is the best team we've had since 2011.

2012 lsu went 10-2 regular season.
Its not 2012 fault that the top ranked 3 loss team was ranked 14th.

We just fired a coach that won at least 10 games in 2005,2006,2007,2010,2011,2012,2013,&
2015 and they were constantly labeled as ," underachieving ".Thats (8) 10 win seasons out of 11. 10 wins should be the floor at lsu. 10 wins allows us to lose to 3 teams and there arent 3 teams in all of cfb that are vastly more talented than lsu.
LOL, that's not why he got fired.

With an easier schedule and the returning talent,

I don't think it's easier other than replacing UGa with Vandy. Texas is clearly better than Miami for the biggest OOC game. Georgia Southern is better than Tech and Utah State is a decent team at 11-2 and ranked in the Top 25.

Regardless, I think 11-1 in regular season in doable assuming we stay healthy.

I said this year was good and O deserves credit. Im sorry that pointing out a fact hurts your feelints.

We still lost multiple games we shouldn't have lost.
We still had a shite offense.

Good not great season.

Why did he get fired?

Is it because in 2015 we had a top 40 offense and one of the most productive offenses in the sec?
Where we finished above ohio stata, fsu(when they were good),and bama in offensive yards per game and offensive points per game?

The fact that poeple on here say miles was fired for anything other than wins and losses is fricking laughable and IMMEDIATELY shows they are football ignorant.

If we beat wisky and auburn, miles wouldnt have been fired.

We did lose three conference games versus two the year prior, but if you dig a bit deeper there’s absolutely improvements. In 2017 LSU was completely non-competitive in the two losses, where in 2018 is was only Bama. That is in spite of the fact that we were without a playmaking RB, like Guice, a home run WR threat, like Chark, and had a completely inexperienced and outmatched OL.

Yea, Les was trending down, O had to rebuild and is trending up. It's pretty clear we are heading back to greatness. Since when did LSU become a school where 10 wins was below standards? These guys need to get heads out of asses.

16-0 or nothing!

No reason we should have lost to aTm. At least 11-2 is a success next year

No, that season wasn't a fail. Coaching was a fail, of Epic proportions.

I agree. Im just talking about the posters that used a 6-2 sec record to say 2017 was a good year and now dont mention getting further away from the the west title.
I thought this year was good and O definitely did a decent job this year.
He has a good class coming in.

Our oline isnt outmatched. There are dozens of programs that have less oline talent and they field a competent offensive line. While our oline isnt a strength by any stretch of the imagination, our scheme and playcalling exacerbated the issue.

2018 was a decent year but we played 4 p5 programs with less than 5 losses and went 1-3. Thats not good.

First of all - when do we prioritize final ap ranking? You know - the same AP that had us preseason 25? There's a reason the AP poll hasn't been of note in 20 years.

We were still 9-3 regular season. All three losses were in the SEC. Texas A&M had 3 losses in the SEC as well but had a heads up victory over us. Ranking would only put us ahead of them if there was a three way tie in the west.

LINK

LSU finished 3rd in the west.

Nah. Losing 3 regular season games every year isn't good. Ever.
