This year is crashed and a lot of it has to do with historical losses of players and coaches during this Covid19 messed up year. We have reinforcements coming and coaches will figure things out. I don’t think Pelini can go from the best defensive coordinator we have ever had to the worst we have ever had under normal circumstances.

Pelini ran a damn good defense.......15 years ago. The college game has passed him by.

We haven't played a ranked team yet.

Pelini was mediocre at best in his first stint. He coasted on stacked Nick Saban defenses for two years against sec teams running basic, predictable run first football.

By 2007 when the defense had Pelini’s fingerprints more on it and SEC teams started to be remotely creative we got worked by several mediocre teams.

frick Pelini

1. Arnsparger
2. Saban
3. Chavis (Not counting his recruiting uselessness)
4. Aranda

Might be out of order, but those are the best four, imo.

I honestly don't think he ran a good defense back then, LSU lost 2 damn games in Miles' only championship season even though they were head and shoulders talent wise above everyone that season. All the news and sports media outlets knew it and voted them in the championship game even though they had those 2 losses. I mean go back and look at his defense against two very average teams in Kentucky, and then Arkansas at home in tiger stadium. They passed and ran all over that defense he employed, couldn't stop anything. Arkansas had Darren McFadden in the "wildcat" most of the game and everyone knew he was gonna run, they still couldn't stop him. I think he ran for well over 200 yards in that game. LOL I just don't like his kind of defenses they don't attack, too passive.

Bull shite. We are LSU. Losing players to the draft is a normal thing. Don’t even try to blame this be on covid either. No way in hell does a program like LSU lose to anyone 48-11. We have the resources to be at least competitive in every game. 48-11 is the worst loss we’ve had since 29-0. Hands down.
