When was he great before he came here? And one or two hires at DC and OC broke his dumb arse fir settling. Coach O wouldnt even be a good DC.
Hes a career position/DL coach and great recruiter.
BK was a bad fit from the get go. His style and personality are made perfectly for northern schools and IVY league. Not for a powerhouse is the SEC footprint. Whose else came here that was great and left lousy?

Saban was okay coming in and great leaving.
Les was stubborn and quirky coming and stubborn and quirky leaving.
Ed was boisterous and has a bad case of ADHD coming in and is a little less boisterous and because of the downside of his ADHD he couldn’t keep his teams together.
But your description is correct about Brian, great coming in and lousy leaving.
Kiffin was hired based on potential greatness.

He put together a very solid staff,
When? His entire staff for 2019, except for Brady, was hired by Les. He hired an offensive coordinator for 2017, Canada, then fired him. He hired the staff for 2020 & 2021 and the only guy we kept off his staff was Brad freaking Davis.
2019 was great, but that doesn't make Orgeron a great coach any more than
2010 made Gene Chizik a great coach, or 2001 made Larry Coker a great coach.

I don't understand the hate for O.
6-7 losing to K-State in the Texas Bowl with Jontre at QB. Yeah 2019 was great though

Funny, cause James Franklin and Sun Belt Billy found jobs right away.

Yeah, you never heard of Curly Hallman have you?

Just an observation. I think it’s just fine for a coach to come and go but the players make the coach. Not saying they’re aren’t bad coaches but can they be great when they come and bad when they leave? I think Brian Kelly is the only one that was lousy when he came and lousy when he left. The back up QB and the others teams position coach are the Rant’s favorite at all times. ??
This is the dumbest take I’ve seen in quite some time….congratulations on the retardation

Even more so for players.

His team lost 1 game and ranked 5th when he left before the playoffs. It was a 4 team playoff at the time.
You’re stupid man.

So do you think Davis was a good coach? Wilson?
I don't think neither one were good on the field coaches.

At Notre Dame that isn't something to write home about. They only play 2-3 real games a year. Also, he was a lousy coach.

That’s not the premise of OP & you’re wrong about Miles.
He wasn’t ever gonna win a championship at LSU, but “total garbage”?
First off, I said garbage at the time they were fired.
Secondly, Miles did indeed win a National Championship at LSU.
Sheesh.

Do you at least acknowledge there was a locker-room issue with the team starting in 2020...instigated by RC?

I thought it was obvious that “Another” was implied

Yes that’s why Coach O was chasing blondes

JFC, he was 44-6 his last 4 years at ND with 2, 4 team playoff appearances and they were 5 when he left

So, familiarity breeds contempt? What a novel concept.
