Ok so UF pays the buy out of 1.5 mil. Who the hell pays the reimbursement to the ticket holders?

Amazing how this is just brushed-off by the ESPNtapo.
That is a big deal to say the least, particularly this year with the business damage done by the weather.
From a "what's good" for all, has anyone commented on this helping the state of LA recoup losses; if the game had been moved to BR? FL apparently didn't give a $#@* about the game because it facilitates their E conference possibilities.

LSU’s administration declined, wanting to keep that home game with South Alabama and all the revenue that would come with it.
The nerve of us.

Even SVP brought it up last night. And he started off with, " hey look LSU fans you know I love you but..."

We can talk about how UF and the SEC botched it and we got screwed, which I agree with.
But at this point, if we feel we have a shot at the SEC CG and we don't want to lose that shot, we have no choice but to make some concessions, probably on that 10/19 date.

Unless Foley or Greg told alleva there's a 5 million dollar check in the mail, it is not an offer to reschedule.

You're choosing to believe JA because he's the AD of your favorite team.
I chose to believe Alleva because he is a primary source, where as Bret McMurphy (never heard of him) is a secondary source of an anonymous source.

there's no reason to retract just because Alleva says otherwise. You gotta trust your sources until it's proven to be incorrect.
Except, since there is no proof, journalistic integrity would necessitate he report that while he has heard that this offer was made and refused, Alleva has denied that any such conversation took place.

Under no circumstances should we concede the home game in favor of going to Gainesville.

After a road trip to R- Kansas? Are you a gump or gator fan...cuz you sure ain't sounding like a Tiger fan today...

Alleva should go on Sportscenter and lay it out for them of what actually happened. Because he is being played and his job is probably on the line right now.
He has to know this right? Most people understand that this wasn't his fault but still. When you add this to the list of things that have gone sideways under his leadership it just doesn't look great.
I wish he would've got out there earlier in the week and said that he wasn't sending his team, coaches, fans, and support staff into a Cat 4 hurricane.

He basically said we'll play you any time in the next few days, you tell us when and where. How is that less helpful than stating we're not sending the team into a storm?

Three hours ago ESPN staff writer David Ching clears up most of the shite stirred up by Bret McMurphey. Read my post on the main Hurricaine thread minutes ago. Includes a link to Ching's article and quotes. Finally hearing our side of the story on ESPN.

quote:Florida was insisting that they were going to host the game and that Gainsville would be safe. No other games were cancelled or moved at that time in Florida. No other AD was saying anything. Why would you want Alleva to say that he wasn't going to send our players? That makes no sense.
