68. Will Wade, LSU Tigers -- Wade is the lone coach in this tournament who never played high school basketball -- he played golf and was a four-year student manager at Franklin Road Academy in Nashville. Wade's entry into collegiate coaching would come at his alma mater of Clemson, where he was a student manager under Oliver Purnell before being hired as a graduate assistant for the Tigers

I don’t give two shits about if he can play basketball but the man knows how to coach it for sure

Beard was a regular for McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Texas, but did not play college basketball at Texas. Then-Longhorns coach Tom Penders gave Beard a managerial job, and he'd eventually become a student assistant at the school.

So it Wade the lone coach who didn’t play in college or did this guy not play?

Also there is a steep drop off after 2

Do you people actually read the articles you bitch about? Or just reflexively run to TD of whine about ANYTHING “negative” regarding LSU?

They ranked the coaches AS PLAYERS. Considering Wade didn’t play HS ball, let alone college, I don’t see how he could not be ranked last

Shows you don't have to play the game to understand it.

So that’s the bad news. The good news is that if they ranked all 68 coaches as golfers, the Pear is at the top of the leader board.

I want Will Wade to be the opposite of Johnnie Jones in as many categories as possible.

I wonder how TAMU fans feel about being 0-8 against a coach that never played high school basketball

Wade is the only coach in the tournament that didn't play basketball in high school.

I don't know about ranking him last, but he would definitely be in my last 20 for sure. I just don't think he's a very good coach and it shows on the court. The team is very selfish and plays more street ball than anything. They often get beat because the other team is better coached. It would not surprise me at all to see LSU fall in the first round. Good coaches know how to make adjustments and WW is clueless in how to make changes during a game. If things aren't going perfect for this team, they quit and that's a reflection of a poor coach!

Jerry Stackhouse was a good college and NBA player. Where's he rank on this list? Oh that's right...
