The key to the whole situation, of course, is beating Bama. If he does that, the job is his.

That may be the case, but it shouldn't be. Winning a single game with existing talent is categorically different than building and maintaining a national championship caliber program over time.

and finances have to be a concern for a cash-strapped university, especially after Miles was paid a buyout of at least $10 million.

After reading this, its all I need to know. These idiots still can't grasp the concept that our AD is one of the top earners in the country and gives money back to the university. It's really not that hard to comprehend.

This per Schlabach. I'm pretty sure the so-called journalists at ESPN just make things up.

You do realize that by virtue of Schlabach calling these predictions, the whole thing is, in fact, made up?

I dont get the hate for Coach O. I think he could be just as good if not better than Herman or Fisher....solely based on recruiting alone.

Those guys wont know how to lock down the state the way O can. Maybe Fisher....but thats a decent maybe.

Uh, no, sorry. While it's true much of his article comprises forecasts, he specifically states that "many LSU insiders" have indicated that Alleva has wanted to retain O since Miles was fired. That's not a prediction. It's a statement of historical fact. It's either true or it isn't.

The only thing beating Bama would prove is that our coordinators are great. They're the ones coaching aren't they? I thought that's what Coach O was going to let them do.

Honestly, when was the last time ESPN got something like this right? It's all for entertain. This is likely coming from Culotta and the Prince. And keep in mind Prince now works for O so his is an insider.

Have any of you anti coach O people thought that coach O just might be the best man for the job right now? If LSU wants to keep this staff largely intact he's your logical choice. And nobody knows if ensminger wants the job full time. If not find an established OC and win.

But maybe he means as a D-line coach and recruiting coordinator, NOT head coach. I too would like to retain O in at least that capacity. Aranda too. Many position coaches, in fact.

A simple review of Les Miles' contract via google search would show that his buyout is going to be nowhere near $10 million. And to use "was paid" as if was entitled to receive a lump sum rather than amortize the amount. The article has no credibility on that alone.

Alleva shouldn't be allowed to hire the next guy after fricking up the Jimbo shite and the basketball hire.

I'm thinking Lsu will go down the same path as Tennessee USC Texas etc if they go grab a coach who isn't from here with zero ties because he's had a few decent years at a mid level powr 5 program. It would be the same shite Lsu has historically done. shite the bed minus Saban. And Dabo Sweeney was a position coach named interim who Clemson hired for the ones that would shite the bed if O was hired. O did damn good at USC in 8 games. After the ole miss stint. He did that because he learned Pete Carroll style and rolled with it. He's tied to La well. Instate coaches love him. He would get the talent here.. I think he needs to do really well but he does have experience.. He can recruit. He's a la man. No reason not to consider.

Y'all stay with me here...im not gonna lie...its gonna get a lil weird.

Coach O looks like LSU.

He's comfortable and confident.

You know how Jerry DiNardo didn't look like LSU?

Or fuzznuts Hallman who looked like he was dying to get back into crimson and white? Dude was never comfortable in Purple and Gold.

Archer?...maybe.

Cholly? Hell yes

Bo Rein? Holy Shitballs yeah. You could feel that.

Miles? yes. I believe Miles mentally prepared himself to be an LSU Coach and he changed himself to become that coach. Of course, Michigan and Schembechler (sp?) still bled through at times but CLM at least gave it his best. you could feel that and I am thankful to CLM for that effort.

I don't give a shite about national championships. Yes I want to win but I don't need dominance at all costs per Saban. Say what you want but I care more about LSU being LSU.

IMO We have lost so much of the traditions that made LSU a special place. We all know this and there are countless threads to throw-up about it. Piped in music anyone?

I want a coach that will bleed on the field with our players and cry with them off the field.

I want a coach that remembers what Saturday Night in Death Valley was all about.

I want a coach that doesn't need to be told about Chinese Bandits. Hold that Tiger. Old War Skule. Rice Farmers, Nuns, Doctors, and bankers yelling their asses off....for 4 qtrs and staying around for the 5th in the parking lot.

When I think of LSU I think of my PawPaw 1933 in full uniform on the parade grounds. My momma beating my dad with a rolled up gameday program while Tommy Hodson hit Eddie Fuller. My dad telling stories of Billy Cannon and living in Tiger Stadium dorms...dumping trash cans on the opposition as they made their way off the buses and into the locker room. And I think of what it meant for me to continue my family's legacy when I was accepted into LSU where I was going to be in the student section..raising hell.

Blast away but I don't think any other coach in college football represents the school and the state better than O. None of you tards know for a fact that any other coach is going to do a better job. Its all speculation. But again, I want someone how looks like an LSU man and O is the man.

shite I'm tired. #geaux2hellolemiss

Uh, no, sorry. Word of mouth from "sources" is not a statement of historical fact. He's using hypotheticals to make predictions which are strictly for entertainment, and it's best to unwad your panties and stop caring so much about what this guy is guessing.

Alleva needs to put the full press on Tom Herman. If that isn't going to work, he should lean on Jimbo Fisher. This needs to happen no matter what our current team does. Coach O (at 7-0 or 6-1) should only be a candidate IF we cannot get Herman or Fisher.

Lol. Yes it is. If I say "LSU will hire O," that is a prediction of some future action. If I say "many LSU insiders have told me that Alleva has wanted to hire O since Miles was fired," that's a statement of fact. It's true or it isn't. Either many LSU insiders have told the author that, or they haven't. It's not a prediction of some future action. Learn elementary logic before you post some erroneous quip.
