That was one hell of a game and Greensboro seriously impressed me. They were on fire. The best part about this LSU team is that they have faced several teams that have been on fire and they still have managed to win. That game showed me what this team could be because most teams would have lost to Greensboro that day.

ESPN is so retarded. Not that it matters anymore but it's the middle of February and LSU's RPI is 6. SIX.

LSU has three or four automatic wins left on the schedule. LSU would have to try really hard to finish worse than 14-4 in the SEC. Not a lock my arse.

7 loss Purdue team who lost by double digits

Exactly. I said this earlier when studying Purdue's record. They are 1-4 against ranked teams and have zero Top 15 wins. Yet they are somehow a guaranteed lock to get in?

I get when the guy next to you at the bar is talking out of his arse but these guys are supposed to do this for a living. They are professionals. How can they not have any idea of which team has a better resume?

hmmm, Bracketology has us as a 4 seed matched up against Murray State.

Murray State is 19-4, 10-2 in Ohio Valley, losses (close ones) to Auburn and Alabama. Led by Ja Morant, currently suggested to be 2nd player picked in draft.

Don't know if this is a subtle jab at LSU (sounds like a very dangerous opponent), or maybe the beginning of increased marketing. You know with a lottery prospect, the media is going to watch their game(s).

Everything written is fine. I just think LSU is a lock. They could lose out and still get in I think. That would be what a ‘lock’ is. With that said, who cares? They’ll get in, and their bracketology projection right now makes sense.

It does have a lot to do with the name on the front. It’s the same reason why LSU may get the benefit of the doubt in football or baseball. It happens.

I was confused a couple of weeks ago as to why Purdue was getting so much love. All the talk was how hard their schedule is. I'm sorry, but no matter how hard it may be, you have to BEAT somebody to impress me.

And I am not impressed by the Big Ten. I can see that there is parity in that league, but I don't see any one team who looks scary. They just beat each other up, and get the benefit of the doubt. Michigan is a very well coached team, and they play outstanding defense. But they aren't exactly explosive, and yet, they're the best that conference has to offer.

And to say that a 7 loss team is a lock and LSU isn't, is just dishonest and lazy analysis. It's a good thing their opinions don't count.

What does count is the NET ranking, and Purdue is 3 spots higher than us and Kentucky is 8 spots higher.

This whole thread is much ado about nothing. Obviously LSU is right on the edge of wherever ESPN’s line between “Lock” and “Should Be” is currently set.

We are a lock the question is at what seed. That depends how we finish. SEC Tourney means nothing to the people doing seeding. Most have us as a 4 seed, but with the win at Kentucky and finishing the regular season strong hen we should go to a 3 seed. Yes ESPN and CBS have an agenda, keep recruiting for Kentucky, Duke, and North Carolina as much as possible.

"NET" is absolute garbage, if it has Purdue ahead of LSU. How often does that even update? LSU is smoking Kentucky in quad 1 and 2 wins, according to what someone else posted here. So either NET has not been updated, or it is an even worse system than I previously thought.

The fact of the matter is that LSU just went through a stretch that all of the pundits insisted LSU would be doing well to just win a game in. They won all three. So they are 20-4 and 10-1, and the toughest part of the schedule is now over. As far as making predictions are concerned (and that's what this is about) there can't be much more of a lock in the country than LSU.
