Should be in- LSU. There's nothing objective about that.
quote:

Remember last season (and several seasons before that) when it seemed as if Kansas won every single close game that it played? That crunch-time magic has somehow been replicated in Baton Rouge in 2019. LSU did lose a nail-biter at home to Arkansas, but overall the Tigers are 6-1 in SEC games decided by single digits. Most impressively, Will Wade's men brought their 40th minute mastery to hallowed Rupp Arena and came away with a somewhat controversial but nevertheless impressive 73-71 win over Kentucky. The Tigers are the only visiting team that has won a game in Lexington this season. That, plus a 10-1 SEC record, could presage an even higher seed in the bracket than the currently projected No. 4 line for Wade's group. (Updated: Feb. 12)

Good post. ESPN can suck it. Glad they don’t have a vote on selection Sunday

ESPN use to do bowl projections and didn’t even know all of the tiebreakers.

Without tanking the rest of the way, LSU punched their ticket last night.

To be fair, Kentucky is a lock. LSU should be too.

That's going to be a big no from me. Can't put a surging 4 loss LSU team who just took one in a hostile environment into the tournament, but a 7 loss Purdue team who lost by double digits last night is in?

Guarantee the AP voters are going to keep UK ahead of LSU next week too.

We’d probably have to win the whole damn thing before we got any real recognition.

The Tigers entered the night projected as a No. 4 seed by Joe Lunardi, and, at 10-1 in SEC play, that might turn out to be the seeding floor for this team.

kinda an odd article

in the beginning it says that LSU's floor is a #4 seed, but then goes to put us in the "should be in" category?

Well, according to the definition of "should," they're right.

It's not like they're saying they shouldn't.

LSU could lose every single game on the rest of their regular schedule and would still deserve to be in with 20 Ws, a W at #5 UK and dominant record on the road.

Yeah, and you've described what used to be our ceiling.

We should be in. I think this assumes you lose all of your remaining games. If we go on an epic collapse we'd be 20-11 (10-8 SEC) with bad losses to UGA, A&M, and Vandy. I think that would make us a bubble team, but still should be in.

I'm not sure I agree Kentucky would be a lock if they collapsed, though they only have one bad loss remaining on the schedule, and still have UT x2. They'd be 20-11 (9-9 SEC) with a bad loss to Mizzou. They probably still get in because of the wins against UNC, Louisville, and Kansas though. Idk I guess you can say they're a lock.

Our magic number is probably 1-2 to be a lock. We're playing for seeding at this point.

2 wins vs 20+ win teams.

That Greensboro win is starting to look impressive.
