You can book rooms at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Houston right now for this weekend.
The storm has altered it's path and nothing like the amount of rain for Houston is now expected over the next few days as was forecasted.
This not like the flooding in New Orleans. If those airports open Wednesday and that stadium has not been flooded or used as an evacuation center it would not surprise me they attempt to leave the game in Houston.
Too much money at stake to move it. Stays in Houston--no ticket refunds, no payments to NRG for cancelling, no payments to a new stadium, equipment does not have to move ect.

This is stupid on so many levels. They aren't going to have it in Houston when thousands of people are homeless.

Favorite option so far not including the dome! Would be a much better crowd if in Dallas plus I personally would love to see LSU in the old cotton bowl
That stadium is a dump.

This sounds like a tinder message.

There are some better equipped high school stadiums than the museum that's the cotton bowl. Alamodome is the best fit.

A little closer to Utah..?? Maybe a win for everyone.
I feel for the Utah people as far as airline tickets/hotel reservations. Make a decision soon Alleva. There are lots of people who have to make alternate plans.

KPRC TV in Houston has already announced that there will be no athletic events in Houston through the weekend.

Nope, rain is stopping soon. The Texans will play Thursday and LSU on Saturday.
Edit: obviously no one gets sarcasm

IB Freeman still has reservations.

I was still thinking Houston a few days ago, but anybody who still seriously thinks there's any chance to play in Houston is not all there.

there is a reason why Texas-OU is always at 11am
I live a mile and a half away from the stadium. Keep in mind that the red river shootout is during the state fair. There are tens of thousands of people and everything that goes along with a massive state fair. Not the same as everyday fairpark. I went to the RRS this past season and I've been to multiple other sporting events there during the day and during the night. It is absolutely no more dangerous than going to New Orleans. The same rules would apply when in any large city at night where there is crime. There are bars and restaurants right at the entrance of fairpark as well as a DART station. There are always police there. Pretty much round the clock. The thing about dallas is that you are usually no more than a few blocks from a shady area no matter where you are. The gentrification is really happening as someone mentioned but it hasn't quite expanded to fairpark yet.

Seems like a domed NFL stadium would make more sense.

I'm not sure you really understand what's happening in Houston.
