I like the info and strategy explained by Hershiser.
His personal story is also interesting. Didn't play varsity till he was a junior....didn't play in college till he was a junior...The guy is a competitor and a winner.

what amazed me about mike patrick is that after correctly pronouncing mikie mahtook's name at the beginning of the game, he called him mikie mahtaw at least twice. i dont get it. and i also remember him saying after dj hit his 2nd single, he says "and mahtook is 2 for 2 tonite"

I just think that they could get better color guys by actually getting people who follow college baseball.
I think Peterson is great in the booth and would be much better than Hershiser or Ventura.
Either way, ESPN still isn't doing much to promote college baseball or even their own broadcast of the CWS. When the games aren't on they don't talk about it at all.

Can't comment on the XM broadcasters, but I think Patrick and Hershiser are excellent, especially when you consider that you are never going to have college baseball announcers who are very familiar with the teams.

The know-littles on this board love to take shots at guys like Orel, Joe Morgan, Rantz, etc... These men were more successful, know more about what's going on on the field, & are more qualified than you. If you were better, you'd be in the booth.

Between the game itself and ESPN talking up our fans, our stadium, our attendence, our coach, etc. it was a wonderful night for LSU and it may pay dividends in the future for all those kids watching.

Jim Kaat and Harold Reynolds are the great ones from past years, but Hershiser and Patrick are decent.
The analysis of the pitching has been top notch. They are just not as familiar with the names like we, who have followed the teams 60+ games, are.

The thig about people like OrelH and Gary danielson,, these guys are extremly knowledgable about the game.
I enjoy listening to them b/c they share certian things that only professionsals would know... Its not their job to suck LSU's cock everytime we play a baseball/football game.
Half these fukcers on this board are simply not happy unless they are bitching about SOMETHING.

Kyle Peterson does a great job analyzing the games. He should be in the booth doing color.
