Billy Embody said he expects him to miss 1-2 games to start the season. That’s why Cain and Goodwin have been going with 1’s

If the problem was that big, then he his issues are too much for us to fix. They get all the help in the world to pass classes. Maybe he has multiple issues going on, but I don't know. I have always been excited about his potential, but the other guys need all the 1st team reps if we are once again a few weeks away from the season starting and don't know his playing status. We know their status. At this point it should be very clear if he can play or not. It's ridiculous.

If it’s really only 1-2 games then that’s not the end of the world. He will have a game or so to get acclimated before SEC play. We need Emery this season. Plus it’s this kids money season, he just lost 2 out of 12 guaranteed games to show out.

I can understand one year, but two years in a row sounds like the kid and/or whoever is advising him is not smart.

If that’s the case, it means he hasn’t been able to regain his academic eligibility after a full year during which that should have been his #1 focus. Two of the three semesters have been under Kelly. So either it was mathematically impossible for him to regain eligibility over those two semesters or he hasn’t done everything they’ve asked.
Assuming, of course, that he does indeed still have academic issues.
ETA: Unless it’s some kind of clearing issue with the NCAA - e.g. red tape. That might explain the “1-2 games” talk.

Good to hear about the other guys going with the 1s. If he would only miss 2 games, he could work his way in there and help us still. It's just odd to me that whatever the issue is lingers a year later, but would only cause him to miss 1-2 games and not the whole season.
