A lot of people writing off Curry. Last summer fans on here were calling him “baby beast mode.” Now they are predicting he transfers. Never mind that we preserved his redshirt so he could develop. Never mind that he was the MIP of Spring practice. Never mind that he enters Fall camp as the #2 RB.

This fan base is so fickle.

Over for sure. He gets 150 against a scrub team with a few long runs and he’s well on his way. Curry & Lanard are not good enough to hold him back. His completion is CEH and Davis-Price

I'm not saying or making accusations however:

I flew out of New Orleans, stayed in a historic hotel in downtown Dallas and attended the January 1, 2003 Cotton Bowl. LSU QB Marcus Randall was having a career game versus the "Horns" that morning and had just burned the "Horns" D with a 78 yard long run for a touchdown. The next time LSU got the ball a TEXAS linebacker speared Randall's lower ankle about 5 yards or so in front of my eyes! This shot was seen by the officials 4 yards out of bounds where this infraction occurred. Randall hobbled off the field and LSU punted back to TEXAS at which time Williams caught the long bomb pass and scored making it LSU 17 TEXAS 14.

no penalty flag and no call

This is just his opinion and right now it doesn't mean squat.

This is ironic in a thread full of nothing but opinions.

I’ll say under. I think LSU will only have 1 back go over 500 yards rushing this year, but none over 750.

It’s going to be a true RBBC.

Just going by the latest info from Sonny Shipp, who is a reputable source on LSU football that a lot of people trust.

It’s summer workouts.... he’s purely speculating and it’s silly to think the Number 1/2 back in the nation is going to be 5th on the depth chart.

Emery emerges early, rushes for 720+ yards and 350+ yards receiving. Look for s two back set with CEH shifting to the slot

I will say around 500 yds rushing and 300 receiving. I think you will something like in 2012-2013 where you will have a regular 4-5 guy rotation.

Fournette will get snaps because he can catch the ball out of the backfield.

Gimminy Crickets will y’all stop with this?! EVERY back we have can catch out of the backfield. My 56 year old wife and all three of my daughters can catch coming out of the backfield. Fournette had six receptions last year. None of them were impressive catches that my wife and daughters could not make. He had one drop that hit him right in the hands. Fournette was less reliable than the rest of the LSU receivers who, I believe, were second to worst in the SEC.

Fournette has given no evidence in games that he is particularly good at catching. This myth is based on a couple of catches and runs that Fournette had in which no one covered him, and we gained nice yardage. Again, except for the speed, my wife or any one of my daughters would have made those plays. I’m not knocking him. I’m just curious about this rant myth about Fournette being a great receiver.

Workouts in shorts don’t mean anything. Once they put the pads on we will see

Workouts in shorts are the main determinant. That’s when the coaches learn who knows their assignments well enough to be considered as a regular player. There’s a reason DJ Welter was playing instead of Beckwith; it’’s because Beckwith, in practice, didn’t know what to do. If Emery can’t learn his assignments on audibles and defensive reads he won’t play much no matter how talented he is.

He’s not only the most talented RB we have, he’s also the most complete RB we have

Man, history might just repeat. This is exactly the preseason hype surrounding the top ranked HS running back in America who was about to kick off his freshman year at LSU. Nagging reports in summer were that our savior was running third string behind a returning back and an unheralded freshmen who didn’t even have the measurables to play in the SEC.

Well the two in front of him went on to be All Pros, Eric Martin as a receiver and Hilliard as a running back - both for the New Orleans Saints. And Gerry James, while a decent back with a short NFL career, never lived up to that hype.

No, and I’m not predictin Emery won’t learn his assignments. I’m just gainsaying those who say workouts in shorts don’t matter - they do.

Curry is too big unless he’s lost weight since the spring game. His role if any is strictly relegated to short yardage. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if he becomes a FB. Too big, and his feet aren’t good enough to support that weight

I'd say over, but will come at the back end.

We've had some special talent at that position that were not day 1 starters.

Don't know why you throwing your girls down like that. You could have just said, I could make those catches and not cut down the females in your life.
