He is REALLY good imho. I predict that we will see him making an impact. However, I still see CEH being the go to back, at least for the first 3 or 4 games of this season.

Hopefully not long. I’m not a big CEH fan. I like him as a third down back catching balls out of backfield but not running ball in between tackles

Apparently he has blown up over the off-season (curry) and there is a lot of excitement about him from within.

It’s great to have options.

Emery will pass CEH at some point, and I wouldn't be surprised if Tyrion Davis passes CEH as well.

Ask a friend of mine that is close to the program what he is hearing out of summer workouts. He said the two freshman RB's are lighting it up. That is all I got but it agrees with what you said in OP

......well I sure hope he's faster than CEH. LSU needs a big fast RB who can kick in that afterburner and pull away from speedy DB.....you know Leonard Fournette style.

A lot of people will consider you nuts or at least turn down what you're saying, but Emery will take over sooner than later.

It happened with Fournette, would have happened with Guice if Fournette wasn't the one in front of him. CEH isn't on the level of those guys and neither is Lanard. Emery is a complete back similar to Swift of UGA and will be starting by Vandy. I expect him to have his breakout game vs Texas.

CEH will be a good scatback in a Sproles role but Davis and emery are both considerably better all around running backs.

That jump cut on the swing screen gets eaten up for a loss or no gain 99 times out of 100 against SEC opponents. Just like most other players, it will take time for him to adjust to the speed of the SEC.

In defense of the jump cut, he was cutting with a blocker in front of him

It was a smart move that got 2 defenders caught up in the block.

There should be as he has the tools. He was just woefully unprepared based on his high school competition imho.

You call people stupid but you listed very good RB’s but didn’t list who their competition on the team was. I’d bet they were much better than Brossette.

Let’s not forget how long it took LF7 to get serious PT. I’m also expecting to see a lot of throws to the backs this year - which heavily favors CEH over anyone else we got. Clyde showed against UGA that he has the talent to compete with anyone. The dude can play and I think he’ll get at least 10 touches per game this year. Expect to see him in that Kamara role moving to the slot sometimes and catching screens.

You can’t out rush all them dudes and be the worst starting RB at LSU in decades.

He’d be right near the middle of that list. Good burst, great feet, excellent contact balance. Good hands. Behind an OL that was shuffled all season.

Serious question...Could Davis turn out to be better than Emery?
