This is the culture of LSU right now, I think it is best for him to get his surgery for the injury. I hope he gets better.

Yup, it's already on their forums up there.

He had a great pic vs UCLA

I'd be willing to bet that Eli Ricks doesn't play another down for LSU. He's already flirted with transferring once.

We’ve seen the last of Ricks in an LSU uniform. Thanks O. What a debacle this has turned into.
To be fair, we probably wouldn’t have gotten Ricks without O, so…O has known Eli for a long time.

This thread really exposes some of our dumber fans. Fans screaming draft stock and no injury when a guy is going to get cut open to fix an issue
They also somehow missed Ricks having shoulder issues all the way back to last year. I remember a few games where he came out and his shoulder was bothering him.

I'm gonna give Eli the benefit of the doubt that he is hurt, and having surgery to get healthy.
That said, if we get the doors blown off this (or any other) weekend, I'd let Orgeron go, give Raymond the interim HC and maybe even DC (as he's probably the only one who can salvage the recruiting class), and move forward from there.

How do you expect to recuit with a lame duck running the program? 0 needs to go ASAP so we can salvage this class. The instate talent is too good to miss because of cookie monster
Who on the staff is going to recruit players to join an unknown future staff? None of the assistants would be able to conclusively state they will be at LSU next season. And that is probably the same for the administrative people. As of now Orgeron and his staff can continue to sell LSU to recruits. That probably won't be the case at the end of the season (obviously), but it technically is now. And I suspect that if there is ANYWAY O believes he can save his job a big argument for him to the administration would be that he has a good recruiting class coming in. Thus, there is still personal incentive for him to recruit the LSU program. The hope is that in doing so the players will like LSU so much that they will consider attending...even with a new staff. If you can Orgeron now I doubt there is much incentive for the remaining staff members to recruit hard considering they know they will probably be in new locations next season.
When Les was fired in 2016 Orgeron had BIG incentive to recruit hard to LSU. He wanted to include holding the recruiting class together as one of his selling points for the permanent job. That probably would not be the case now as I doubt any of the current assistants would be trying to put together a sales pitch for the permanent HC job at LSU.

If you like Raymond and want him to still be at LSU you don't give him the interim job.
People that get an interim job very rarely are going to stay when the dust settles and the new coach is hired. They are either pissed they didn't get it and leave or the new coach won't trust them.
We are best if Slinger steps up again for the school

Is this the record for injuries on a football team?
Posted on 10/13/21 at 11:41 am to jbraua
What happens when NFL talent plays on a mediocre team?
All risk for little gain
Except for reputation and letting your fellow team / coaches / university down. This matters not in Madden mentality world.

Hopefully there’s still enough players on the team by the end of the season.. for every loss you will see more players “opting out” with injury excuses .. the 5* players today aren’t getting hurt on a losing football team and ruin their chance of playing in the NFL and making millions of dollars…this is turning into a bonfire and won’t stop till the program burns to the ground under coach Zer0…

Everything is unraveling. This will be the legacy of Ed Orgeron. I think there is a greater than 0 chance that Ricks transfers, but I am a cynic.
