He should not have said that, especially if Giles is still on the team. I’ve heard reports that he won’t be after the spring semester.

Have no problem with him saying this. Giles was awful, Ed O made a poor decision and he’s owning it. Let’s not be snowflakes about that little comment

Shrimp boat Captain has a lot of balls calling his player out like that publicly. Giles had a tough year, no doubt, again these are 18-22 yr old kids, what a shitty thing for the Shrimp boat Captain to do. Yet, I’m not surprised O is this stupid.

This board amazes me.
Every single person here was shitting on Giles last season, and rightfully so. He was a non factor at best and definitely not worthy of wearing the covenanted #7 jersey.
CEO agrees and now he's bad for doing that....

Giles single handedly cost us games last year. He needs to not be so sensetive and get netter. He was terrible.

Isn't he saying he made the wrong choice in the tweet? Seems like he is saying he made a mistake. He didn't say Giles sucks. He said Delpit is a better choice.

What kind of defense is that? There are lots of true things about each one of us that should not be proclaimed in public. frick some of y’all. Telling it like it is isn’t throwing someone under the bus. Coach O gave Giles EVERY opportunity to succeed, he started him at WR, and kept him in on returns when he clearly wasn’t up to LSU foosball standards at either. Tell THAT like it is, Giles. He gave you your chance on a silver platter, and you did not perform. Looking at game tape of how he played should be the gut shot.

Giles needs to grow a set. He was simply the worst performing player on LDUs team last year. He basically gave away the game to aTm...or was it Florida?....or was it both, lol
He muffed that punt, without that we unquestionably win, period.

Sure it was a shot at Giles. Who cares??? You never had a coach tell you or someone else you played terrible? I guess everyone got a trophy in your league. These kids need to toughen up. It's not like he called his momma a ho. It's like everything has to be rainbows and sunshine for you folks.

You can read it either way, honestly, but he's been publicly critical of players before and he is really bad at phrasing quite often (maybe that is just my perception).
It also somewhat ironic that he's assuming he made a better decision before the season starts. While I assume that Delpit will have another stellar year, we really don't know until the season plays out. Before last season almost everyone expected Giles to light it up. What it comes down to is that other than the announcement of who was #7 the rest didn't need to be said.
A lot of people seem to hate Giles but love Dillon on this board even though dillon was actually worse than Giles statistically. Hopefully this ends up being motivation for Giles to live up to the hype.

Coach O is a dumbass who continually looks to throw his players under the bus. The only thing he’s good at is recruiting, and he’s gonna screw that up if he keeps throwing his players under the bus

I don't think it's a mistake.
LSU is going to have to have attrition this offseason. Orgeron wants Giles to transfer.
