Phillips is the second best player on the defense. Put the tape back on

More important question is who will take Divinity’s spot on the outside . Is Anthony ready to take the next step

If memory serves me queen started two games last year, bama and ucf. He was the leading tackler at half time for both games. He had 10 tackles at the half vs the tide.

he is definitely a potential starting lb.

I suggest y'all go put the tape back on. He's had some good games. The A&M game was by far his worst. He was out of position and missing tackles. Looked lost out there. PLAY THE TAPE!!!11

Yeah, the only question with those 2 is whether Divinity is starting inside or outside. If we’re counting Chaisson as an OLB, that’s 3 of the 4 spots spoken for.

We're moving to more of a 3-3-5 with Jacoby Stevens at the LB-Safety hybrid called "Quarter" and Chaisson as the Buck edge rusher. This leaves Divinity and Phillips as the inside linebackers.

Queen, Clark, and Baskerville provide some nice depth. But the most interesting storyline could be Tyler Taylor, who was never actually kicked off the team. Will he be back? I'm curious ...

3-3-5 is the best way to put it, instead of 4-2-5. 4-2-5 is probably our "base" look, but technically 3-3-5 is more correct.

I will be very excited to see the freshmen come in and compete for those spots. Namely Kendall McCallum and Donte Starks. When O backs this 2019 class with another great class in 2020, it is gonna light a fire!!!

Queen should be out there with them. Dude is a stud.

Agreed, and he will get plenty playing time. Embrace the fact that we went from barely enough linebackers to fill a roster, to a plethora that we will be able to keep fresh.

Stevens is the guy in line I'd bet. He is a great hybrid F OLB/S role. Gives Harris/Monroe the opportunity (finally) to step up and start alongside Delpit. Could also be Queen too, but they used Stevens a lot last year, especially late, in that hybrid role.

Not sure what the obsession is with Queen. He’s a good backup, but not starter material right now. Needs to tackle better

You mean like he did when he started for White and led the team with 9 tackles?

Agreed, Id like Divinity on the outside to allow room for queen to start inside with phillips. that way the best 4 are on the field

Stacked!! And pray for no injuries like Chaisson got in the First game of last year because the backups on the DL are not that battle tested other than logan.

Well like it or not, beating Bama will ultimately be the measure of O's success. He likely isn't making it to the SECC or NC without beating Bama.

No mention of Marcel Brooks anywhere in these starting 11 posts. I predict he’ll be getting starters reps on defense by years end, will be a struggle to keep him off the field and he’s not a one trick (position) pony
