This list does list some great players..

quote:

Todd Walker Mikie Mahtook Lyle Mouton Brandon Larson Eddy Furniss Alex Bregman DJ LeMahieu Warren Morris JaCoby Jones Albert Belle Brad Hawpe Aaron Hill Ryan Theriot Todd Linden Mike Sirotka Russ Springer Ryan Schimf Trey Hodges Mike Fontenot Nick Stavinoha Russ Johnson Brad Cresse Nathan Dunn Blake Dean

Most of these guys have ZERO business being mentioned in the same sentence with crews

f he wins the golden spikes this year I’d say he’s the best ever. Had the hype and has did nothing but live up to it ten fold

That is the truly impressive part. He came to LSU as the highest rated FR to not declare for the MLB draft and from day 1 he has lived up to those expectations. Regardless of opponents strategy - go inside or outside, breaking balls, pitch around him, etc, - he has shown the patience of a professional hitter.

His ability to cover ground in CF continues to be impressive and he has shown the big arm to keep runners honest. 5-tool all the way, and has the potential to be one of the best LSU players ever at the next level.

His best baseball still lies ahead this season and I can't wait to watch it unfold.

My opinion, if he matches what he did last year… or exceeds, then he’s on the Mt Rushmore. That’s not even taken in account everything he’s done off the field for hundreds of special needs children in and around the state.

Crews is truly a great one and will likely cement his spot in the all time players list. I will reserve judgment on just where on the list I’d put him until later this season. We’ve had the greatest of the greatest come through LSU, just roughly these are the guys he’d be compared to that are not pitchers.
Three of the players you listed actually are pitchers and there’s only 1, maybe as many 2-3, that should be listed with Crews.

Hes the best overall position player I have seen in an LSU uniform. Aaron Nola was by far the best pitcher I watched. Before Crews, I said Brandon Larson was the best hitter I saw when he hit 40 Homeruns, it seemed every time he came up to bat was a HR. Obviously different bats but it didn't take away from that season.

Ridiculous to have a team award as a criterion for an individual. Especially in a sport like baseball. Ben McDonald never won one and he certainly has a claim to best ever for LSU.

Ben McDonald doesn’t.

DJ Lamahieu does not get nearly the amount of props he deserves from some of our fans.

If you were listing out 10 best SS, he’d be on that. 6 or 7th maybe.

Not in best ever discussion

That’s how I feel about it too. Right now it’s Walker, Furniss, and everyone else.
Crews is on pace to make that conversation be Walker, Furniss, Crews, and everyone else

Absolutely agree. Walker is the Goat. Super hard to beat his numbers.
