DVH said he pulled Root because they weren’t going to score on Anderson

Said in his postgame. Anderson chased Root off the mound!

So you burn your best reliever and former ace?

Could you provide a full quote. I would feel like, if I was a player, defeated if my coach said to national media, in the second inning the game was over because we weren't going to score.

With that comment I bet Van Horn throws Root on Wednesday if they get back to LSU since Anderson won’t be throwing that day.
3 days rest and not many pitches thrown today

Was a panic move. He still burned one of his premium arms. Strange decision.

He knew that after his batters faced him for only one inning

That is why DVH can't win a title. Not the decision to pull Root, but the reason why and saying it out loud. He just admitted that he conceded the game in the 2nd inning.

Watching the YT video. He talks about it at 3:45

That was absolutely the decision that was made. And then the reliever they threw today goes Thursday. This of course all predicated that we beat UCLA and they beat Murrary State.

He didn't concede the game. He thought the at bat to Ethan Frey could have ended the game. So he brought in a righty to get that out. They held LSU scoreless from the time he made that pitching change until the 8th inning.

Turned out to be a great move, they just couldn’t score

40 pitches is quite alot and it a high effort inning, no way they let him go more than 60 pitches or so on 3 days rest

Y'all aren't describing it right. He wasn't just giving up on the game. He wanted to go righty there against Frey to not give up anymore runs
That's what he said

Are you familiar with Dave Van Horn?

Let's hope LSU doesn't face Root a 2nd time. We will need UCLA to knock out the Hogs if LSU wins the 1st UCLA match up this Monday.

Did he talk about how horrid Jeff Head was?
Posted on 6/14/25 at 10:06 pm to Tiger Attorney
Probably saving him for another start
