Is this standard D he needs to fight through or is it PI?

I feel like it is a mix. I think to be the superstar I really feel like he will be has to fight through it.

His demeanor indicates that he believes if he thinks he's interfered with it excuses him from fighting for or actually catching the ball.

He's definitely struggling though, he dropped one wide open when no one touched him in the second quarter when Etling was spitting fire.

Something seems off and I don't think it is effort. I really like him believe he has AJ Green ability just needs to fight more.

He thinks he's a superstar already without producing like a superstar. He's not OBJ or Landry by a long shot.

I wanted to edit this to say I think he could be but it looks like he's afraid of any/all contact. He needs to get his head right.

superstar??? really???
He as more drops than catches! He needs to benched for a bit like Harris, so he can pull his head out his arse.

I already posted in another Dupre thread but it seems like the DBs know we are going to use Dupre for throwING it up and hoping he comes down with it. So the last 2 weeks they have played off a little then grab his arms as he goes up for the ball. Not sure why but they are getting away with it.

Not saying he has not also dropped some where the DB wasn't a factor but that hasn't helped anything.

If a D coordinator identifies as WR as being soft with physical play, then they will tell corners to be physical the whole time with the WR (especially one with a big height advantage). They will only tone it down if the corners start getting called for PI.

Coach Craig touched on this somewhat during the pre game radio show. If the refs are letting them play physical, then he wants Dupre & all the receivers for that matter to take the fight to the DB.

If he thinks he is a 1st round receiver, he better find a way to get over that. It won't get any easier in the NFL with much bigger and more physical corners.

It is not like he is getting abused by future NFL talent, he is getting abused by 5'9" undersized corners. That looks really bad and if he does't figure it out, he is in for a very short NFL career.

Given the size misnatch (he's 6'5), I think this is going to be allowed on defense. Refs are gonna "let 'em play".

Now, he's also dropping wide-open passes, so something is wrong, and I think it's gotten to him some; and I believe that is making him more passive vs the DBs.

Dupre isn't playing well. His attitude is starting to affect his play and there are some hungry guys behind him. As soon as someone else gets a shot, you will see Malachi in the slot....where he belongs. That will change everything.

I don't like his mentality in the games and think his game could benefit from a new mentality. Notice on every target he is ALWAYS looking around for a bailout call. I wish he would just rightly assume that he isn't going to get most of those calls and don't look for a bailout on making tough catches. If he makes tough catches, he is going to get those calls when they are warranted.

It's what it looks like when you can't get off press coverage against a FCS cornerback

I feel sorry for the corners, one is gonna get a PI when Dupre just won't do anything but jog along.
