I considered Taylor but I dont think he'd start over any of those guys if they were on the same team.

You say that but Eric Reid didn't look like the same player without Taylor back there

Reading comprehension is fundamental... I said as “just” a safety.. he lined up at safety multiple times. Obviously he wasn’t officially listed as a safety which speaks to his greatness.. he was positionless

The point is his snaps at safety were so sparse there is really no need to include him in a discussion about former LSU safeties

It's like talking about great running backs in LSU history and bringing Josh Reed into the equation.

Clarence leblanc would start over him?

I think so. But like i said i considered Taylor and Leblanc was 10th on my list. I could make an argument for either

I get the confusion though, because we're not using Delpit as a traditional safety. He's all over the defense. His alignment is everywhere too.

Yeah. I wasnt try to say TM was bad in coverage. Peterson is an allpro nfl cornerback though. Just pointing out he was better in that aspect.

yea, who else got drafted off that team tho?

TM7 & Claiborne in the defensive backfield alone were much bigger influences.

Michael Brockers too i think

Laron Landry would like a word with you. I mean, isn't he the highest drafted safety ever in the history of the NFL. I love Delpit would give him the nod over Jamaal Adams, but come on man.

Landry was probably the best safety ever at lsu against the run. I think delpit has better instincts though.

The disrespect to Jack Hunt is incredible. Not only was he an amazing safety he caught the Blue Grass Miracle. The only game we lost in 03 Hunt was out.

I commend you on your Jack Hunt nomination, but he didn't catch the bluegrass miracle and isn't close to our best.

TM7 was a game changer in ways I've never seen another safety be capable of.

I remember him as a nickleback at LSU.

There’s a retired #37 in the lore of LSU Football for a reason...for those of us old enough were fortunate to watch Tommy Casanova. Depict reminds me a lot of Casanova. He also was an electric punt returner. Any list of top 5 safeties have to include him near the top of the list.
