you can be a retard and play DT in the NFL. DT is all about physical tools and technique.

the gap guys have when going from college to the NFL is mental. DT requires almost no mental ability

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

did you watch any KC games? dorsey was pretty much a non-factor

tackles are nothing. they're generally stats reported by the team. they're inflated as the team deems necessary

dorsey was supposed to be the best pass rushing and more NFL ready DT in years, and he got 1 sack. ONE

what he showed in KC last year was a lack of athleticism and technique. this year he showed a lack of drive

you're a frickin idiot and no way in hell did you ACTUALLY watch KC games in any kind of detail to spout this bull shite.

1. Dorsey was not a gap FILLER at LSU he was a gap SHOOTER... His only goal was to get in the backfield and create as much havoc as possible.

2. at KC his main job was to FILL gaps not SHOOT gaps. I remember watching pass plays where Dorsey never moved off the line of scrimmage... not cause he couldn't get by the guy but because that was his ASSIGNMENT.

When you spend your college career shooting gaps, going to the NFL and expecting to be a beast by filling gaps is completely ridiculous. ( i saw several commentators say this very thing on tv so im not the only one who noticed this)

And I can tell you didn't pay attention most chiefs games because Dorsey got combo blocked or straight up double teamed ATLEAST 75% of the time on running plays. You're a frickin douchebag that just wants to bad mouth Dorsey for some reason.

And to say retards could play at DT is fricking stupid. You obviously have never played the position and don't know anything about the reads you have to make...

P.S.- I live in kansas and am a huge chiefs fan so i watched EVERY SINGLE game last year. Dorsey probably won't do much better this year in a 3-4, especially if he gets thrown in at NG. But it is not lack of talent. And it took less than a week for dorsey to get back into shape and start practicing, so this lack of work ethic shite is ridiculous. You need to GTFO whenever you want to think about talking about the chiefs cause you don't know jack shite.

I live in KS, too. SFP has probably never played the game in his life. Just ignore his stupid comments. He's an expert when it comes to anything.

Yeah, been here for about two years. Overland Park for the first 6 months, then Lenexa. I love the weather compared to South Louisiana.

You're right about that. The wind is always blowing. It's nice during the summer to catch those breezes, but a bitch in the winter.

The fact that SFP says that players rarely get double teamed in the NFL is pretty retarded.

On plays where the defense doesn't blitz, there will always be a double team. Stupid statement from a know it all prick. Funny thing is, KC doesn't blitz very much....meaning there's almost always going to be someone double teamed on their dline.

Exactly. D-Linemen are usually double-teamed on pass coverage if there is not blitz, and there's usually a combo block for one lineman to get to the second level to find a linebacker or anybody in space. DTs gets double-teamed a ton. DEs, not so much. Now, that's in a 4-3 scheme. 3-4 is going to be much different.

and he failed at doing this last year in the NFL

that's the point

wrong

tank tyler was the 2-gap DT who got the double teams (if they came) which was supposed to free up dorsey

go look at the wonderlic scores of many DTs

hell jerrell powe IS retarded, couldn't read after high school, and is starting at DT on a top SEC school this year

he won't

that's tank tyler's job

yeah OL never go to the 2nd level and go after LBs on running plays, and if the D is rushing 4 there is ONE CHANCE of a double team

there are 4 DL

how many teams roll out 8 blockers for just the DL?

SFP also claimed that OU's offensive line was "not very good" last season. They happened to be one of the best, if not the best, offensive lines in the country.

You're misreading my post trying to save your arse at this point. Let me rephrase it so you can comprehend:

If there is no blitz, the interior D-Linemen are usually the ones getting double-teamed. I meant that double teams often occur the most when there is no blitz--no-brainer--and that any D-Lineman is susceptible to being double-teamed.

Wow... just fricking wow. Football IQ is what they're paid for. The average score is a 20 for a football player, and 10 is considered literate.

I've had these same arguments with SFP in the SaintsTalk section about Dorsey; watched most of KC's games last season and saw Dorsey eat many a double team and play filler; just as another poster stated, he played the role his coaches gave him. I'm now convinced that Dorsey slept with SFP's woman / mom / something, because he's simply making things up to get down on the guy.

He argues for the sake of argument. Doesn't matter to him whether he's right or wrong. In his microcosm, he's always right.

Um...isn't the discussion about passing plays? Weren't you specifically talking about Dorsey's pass rush? Isn't that how numbers like sacks, PDs come about? Aren't you the one saying that these are the stats that "matter" for a dlinemen?

Anyway...fact is you stated that there are rarely double teams in football...you're obviously diverting from your original point to save arse.

No one ever said that every dlinemen gets double teamed jackass...what a stupid comment.

they were really big, but you could get around them with fast DL

you just didn't see many fast DL in the big12 last year
