Everyone becomes and ex-college, ex-high school, ex-semi pro when that argument is thrown out. It becomes comical really.
Yeah, I wanted to say I play LB for the Raiders, but that would obviously be a negative.

Well back onto the original subject of this thread:
I think Bowe is clearly playing just fine now and Dorsey has been moved to a 3-4 DE position most of the time... So there should be no more comparing him to Ellis.
Dorsey hasn't looked awful at the DE position. They are platooning quite a few players around that DLine and SFP's love boy Tank Tyler isn't even a starter.
I look forward to seeing who actually gets the start once the reg season begins and how often they platoon people in and out.

I read an article about a week ago that said Dorsey has taken the starting spot at RDE, and now it looks like Tyson has the starting job at LDE. Let's hope they have a good season.

sometimes they were in the 3-4, not all the time, they interchanged a lot last nite from 4-3 to 3-4. but still he was doing the same thing he did at LSU, not rushing the OLineman, just tryin to read and jump up and bat down passes. one of those KC DLine coaches will have to break him out of those bad habits he developed at LSU, to bad Brick haley didn't work with him before he left.
Then you don't understand what KC is trying to do on defense. They are running a 3-4/4-3 defense but it is still a type of scheme where DL attempt to read and control the gaps and let the LBs make the play. There are calls where a certain DL will play more like a true 4-3, but those are situational calls.

ESPN posting on the two that no one seems to be mentioning, least of all the LSU-ex haters...

K.C.'s Bowe, Dorsey and Johnson make progress

RIVER FALLS, Wis. -- Kansas City coach Todd Haley praised three players, who have been in the doghouse in Kansas City at some point recently.
However, it seems all three are making strong progress as the Chiefs prepare to end their training camp.
Dwayne Bowe
Why he was in the doghouse: Bowe, the Chiefs' best receiver, was overweight, lackadaisical and dropping passes. That prompted a trip to the third string.
How he is making progress: Being demoted clearly caught Bowe's attention. He played well in the Chiefs' first preseason game (against much lesser competition as he was playing with the backups). Bowe was working with the first team again some Wednesday and it appears he is well on his way back into the good graces of the coaching staff.
What Haley had to say: "Dwayne has been terrific in the past few days. He's been terrific."
Glenn Dorsey
Why he was in the doghouse: He was very overweight and wasn't working hard. He failed a conditioning test to start training camp.
How he is making progress: Dorsey has now lost 39 pounds since the start of the offseason conditioning program. He is working hard and making progress in the Chiefs' new 3-4 scheme.
What Haley had to say: "Glenn has worked very hard and he is making good strides. He's getting in good shape."

I mean I would seriously be for trading one of the Saints highly paid DEs for Dorsey if they really don't want him.

quote:oh I understand alright, but I just made a constructive critique that what he was doing at LSU won't fly there, they will quickly be on his arse, and some tards took and blew it out of proportion. you can react and read when it's called, but not all the time like I was watching him do last nite.
Then you don't understand what KC is tryin to do on defense.

I wonder when he got that sack, musta been late in the game when I had fallen asleep.
Actually it was about midway through the 1st quarter on a 3rd-5... The resulting loss of yardage pushed the Seahawks out of Mare's FG range. He missed on a 51-yard attempt...
