Don't tell me that the BCS makes the regular season more exciting

I tried to give away 3 tickets to the game yesterday outside the stadium and no one would take them.
I know. I know... we still have a good shot at the Sugar Bowl and the fans should be appreciative for the success LSU has had this season. I am!!
However, I want to see a playoff implemented. I think that with a playoff the regular season would become more relevant, yes I said MORE RELEVANT. Higher rankings = Home field advantage in the playoffs.
And we would still have a shot at the national title. I hate the BCS system and hope to see it gone ASAP!

We still have a shot now and no one bought your tickets.
To think you not being able to sell your tickets is the fault of the BCS is laughable.

I find it hard to believe that you couldn't give your tickets away for Ole Miss.

I have believed in the BCS until a few weeks leading up to this week. I mean really? Oregon had a bye week, should they really be gaining points in the poll?
Oregon gained 5 points in the Harris Poll and gained 2 points in the coaches poll off of a bye week.
Auburn LOST 6 points in the Harris Poll and gained 1 whole point in the coaches poll...on a Bye.
TCU LOST 23 points in the Harris Poll and LOST 18 points in the coaches poll....on a bye.
LSU LOST 14 points in the Harris Poll and stayed the same in the coaches poll, IN A WIN!
I've always backed the SEC and said that a 1 loss SEC team is better than a undefeated Boise or TCU. It can even be argued that a 1 loss LSU is better than an Oregon team. LSU has had by far the toughest schedule in the top 5 and they are getting no credit for it.
My pac-10 friend keeps telling me an undefeated team is better than a 1 loss team. If 10-0 is better than 9-1, shouldn't any win gain points compared to the teams who are on a bye week playing nobody not winning any game at all?
This is total utter BULLSHITE
0-0>1-0?
Although LSU didn't win in impressively, Ole Miss' record doesn't reflect what kind of team they are. To me, a team that can have these amazing drives to put the game away is better than a team playing cupcakes week to week winning by 30-40 points.
As much as I hate TCU, How do they lose 23 points in the Harris poll, how does Auburn lose 6 points and how does Oregon GAIN points in the harris poll when they are all on BYE WEEKS? In my opinion, their points should be exactly the same, and unless Boise won 200-3 or LSU won by 40, the top 3 should have stayed the same with the same amount of points.

The BCS is a total Sham and ESPN has figured out they make more money with the chaos that surrounds it. Until we as fans band together and demand a play off we are stuck with this media circus deciding who is the MNC of CF. It sucks!

The BCS is still better than before. I think it was an undefeated BYU team that beat a 6-5 Michigan team in the Holiday Bowl in 1984 (?) to win the NC.
IMO there is a slight underlying bias against the SEC in that writers/coaches/voters want to see someone besides the SEC win the NC. I also think they are waiting for LSU to lose to drop them in the polls. If LSU beats Ark this weekend I think their position will strengthen and possibly improve depending on what the top 4 do.

You can only say this b/c you don't know what the season would be like with a playoff. If 8 or 16 teams were still in the running for a national title I bet the last 3 games of the regular season would be more exciting then they are now. More teams would be playing for an opportuntiy for a home playoff game or for a playoff spot instead of a bowl game. Right now there's 4 teams that are in the hunt compared to a playoff which would involve more fanbases.....result being more excitement.

Did you try to give them away here? I bet you would have had a hundred takers.

The reason you couldnt give away the tickets is because alot of people are not very excited to go see LSU struggle against a poor team

Your logic doesn't hold up. People are anticipating a Sugar Bowl. They are hording their money for NOLA.

This is complete bullshite.
You probably didn't try very hard if true.

I am not against a playoff but with a 16 team playoff, the topic of this thread would be who is the best of the 2 and 3 loss teams and what is their SOS. Then the topic would be why were we left out!!

I hardly watch the NFL at all during the regular season, but I always watch the playoffs and Super Bowl.

well most likely the people just outside the stadium right before the game already have tickets. others are at or getting to the place they are going to watch the game.
