It was nice considering how many times we’ve been stuck with the B and C crews this year.

Don’t want to start a new thread but can’t find it

Did anyone ask Mullen about them sitting the TE and if so, what was the response?

It was fantastic. Blackledge has given LSU some great calls over the years. Hell even more Sean McDonough, who called Warren Morris’s homerun.

McDonough and Blackledge are my favorite announcing team these days.

The best part about the new ESPN deal is they could call more LSU games in the future.

Ill always remember McD’s call from the peach bowl “on target again, Jefferson again, touchdown..again”, as we go up like 48-14 in the first half of a playoff game

McDonough was great. He made sure not to sugarcoat the reviewed but not called targeting play from their Olineman. He made sure to point out that the guy clearly intended to hit the LSU player in the head, and brought up the point twice, once before the next play and then after. And pressed the replay official to get an answer from him about shouldn't it have been a personal foul penalty.

They also both agreed on a very soft pass interference penalty against LSU, and didn't mince words, both saying it was soft and not much there.

Blackledge went so far as to say the shoe toss might have been one of the worst/dumbest penalties he has ever seen, in regards to the player costing his team.

There is one more play where they stuck up for LSU that I am forgetting. This could have been a very easy game to commentate from them where they completely glossed over an unranked team down in the dumps vs a team fighting to get in the playoffs and went very pro Florida, but they didn't. In fact they made sure to point out how impressed they were with the young LSU players and how they were fighting and competing. As well as putting together a good performance despite being down every defensive back.

Was coming here to post the same thing. That game was the most enjoyable one this season in terms of play and the quality of the broadcast.

That was the best part of the telecast.

Props to NcDonough for calling out that idiot ESPN hired to discuss calls on the field. He should never be allowed to work again after that embarrassment

They were just so happy the game wasn’t over in the first quarter as many expected. Hard to call a boat race, so they went with the game they got, and they are probably the best. I used to enjoy Fowler and Herbstreit, but can’t take Herbstreit’s crying game. Gary Danielson still has the most punchable face in a booth.

Everything seems better after a win doesn’t it? No one on a UF board right now is talking about the quality of the broadcast.

It would have. They were talking about whether his arm was moving forward prior to the ball coming loose. If that were the case, it would've been an incomplete pass. Both of them said it was obvious the ball came loose prior to the arm moving forward. "Arm moving forward" is a legitimate point to discuss there.
