Obviously an extension with O was a questionable decision. If the next hire is botched, what’s next?

That’s why I think this will be the most important hire in the history of LSU sports. We need a good fit, but we also need Woodward to stay as long as possible.

Stop making threads. You have made nothing but ridiculous threads. I can’t tell if you are an alter or a tard.

He has made nothing but great hires so far, so you think would get fired for one mediocre or bad hire? Lol

No. That’s how you play the game when you win a title.

Wtf does this even mean? What is a ‘good fit’? Great coaches are great coaches. A good fit is a guy who knows how to delegate to excellent coaches, recruit, and win. Seems like that’s a good fit for any team.

Why do you want Woodward to stay as long as possible? What happens if his star burns out?

Dumb!! He had just come off a National Championship season with the best team to ever play at LSU and it was questionable to give him a raise?? I am beginning to think LSU fans just enjoy firing people every year and not really giving them a chance to prove themselves.

I think he would get a second chance if his next hire is a disaster. Football does drive everything though.

You have to extend your coach for recruiting but the amount of money on the buyout should never be allowed to get that high. If nobody else wants your coach and you know it, why let it happen.

Stopped reading right there. Dude had the greatest season in college football history and you call it a questionable decision?

Even if he knew how much of a retard O was, he had no choice... can’t be telegraphing to other future coaches that even a national championship doesn’t earn a gigantic contract extension.

Let's see...

You have the job of leading LSU's athletic department

Football is the biggest sport in all respects

Does hiring its leader have implications on the leader of same athletic department?

A. No
B. Maybe
C. Yes
D. May I get a "Cous Cous Yes" amen!

Put me down for D

It does imo.

He needs a homerun or at least a solid triple.

He’s hired some horrible coaches for the flagship football program but gets somewhat of a pass with his other coaching hires.
He can’t hide from Pelini. That’s as much on him as anyone.

He cannot afford to hire someone, anyone just to replace O. He needs to make the right hire even if it means keeping O for another season

AD's aren't rotated like head coaches. He's responsible for all sports, not just LSU football.
