Does this mean the Moo State game will be at 11am?

I'll have to milk the cows a little earlier that day if so. Just trying to plan.

This place has an unhealthy obsession with game times

I'm guessing that will be a 9pm ESPN game.

Why? No reason.

I don't think you unnerstand how livestock works my friend. If they arnt on schedule at least two weeks in advance, the situation gets hairy!

What are the other games that week that might take our night game away from us? I'm just wondering and trying to plan.

Thank you!

When you have a tradition as incredible as a Saturday Night in Death Valley and that tradition occurs at the whims of indifferent TV executives and conference officials that leads to a little bit of insecurity. College football is not long for this world and I want as much Saturday Night in Death Valley before this sport goes the way of boxing and horse racing and all we have are the memories and replays.

Horse racing is still fun for the horces at least!

I think this Moo State game will be at 11 a.m.

Thank you to all!

All 14 teams play that week SEC games

Bama-TENN at Bama
Arkansas-Auburn at Arkansas
Florida-SCAR at SCAR
UGA-UK at UGA
LSU-MSU at MSU
Ole Miss-Texas A&M at Ole Miss
Vandy-MIZZOU at Vandy

So objectively, the 2 worst games as of now are MIZZOU-Vandy and Bama-TENN.

Vandy has Ole Miss next week then UNLV, if they win both, they are 3-3. TENN has UGA this week, they will be 1-4. THen they play State, if they win that one they are 2-4

State is 3-2 now, so worst case, they are 3-3 if they loose to TENN on 12 October (game is in Knoxville).

I see Auburn@Arkansas, Missou@Vandy, and Kentucky@Georgia all as 11 am possibilities over LSU@Mississippi State. Looking at that list of game I’d say there’s a great shot LSU plays that game at night.

How do yall know LSU doesn't WANT the 11am kickoffs?

Just for the extra rest for Florida & Possibly Auburn.

That might be true but it is State's home game. Next, the Networks want to optimize TV rankings for every time slot. Which games at what times give the maximum viewership? and what other games do you have. For 19 October, the Networks have 7 SEC games to choose from. So to be honest, if State were to defeat TENN on 12 October, and LSU defeats Florida that week, a objective case can be made for the LSU-State game being the best CBS game. LSU 6-0 (2-0 league play; MSU 4-2, 2-1 league play).

Now the wildcard is UGA, how many times does CBS want UGA at the 2:30 slot. They have already been on with Notre Dame, there 16 November game with Auburn is a lock for CBS and there 2 November game with Florida is a lock. That is 3 games for UGA. Does CBS want a 4th game with UGA and a 5th game with UGA. I think the UGA-Texas A&M game on 23 November looks like the best league game that week. UGA-MIZZOU on 9 November is out because that iS LSU-Bama, so the only other option for a 5th UGA game is UGA-UK on 19 October.

It's an obsession, for sure, but it's not unhealthy.

Certain things are sacrosanct in Tiger Stadium: Saturday night football and traditional white jerseys are the most notable of these.

This^

Also, if anyone would check our winning % at night vs day games, you'd understand why those of us old enough to remember only night games in Tiger Stadium want them so badly.

10/19 - TBD Tennessee (1) Alabama
10/19 - TBD Kentucky (3) Georgia
10/19 - TBD (5) LSU Miss St
10/19 - TBD (7) Auburn Arkansas
10/19 - TBD (10) Florida S Carolina
10/19 - TBD (25) Texas A&M Ole Miss
10/19 - TBD Missouri Vanderbilt

I would say that Mizzou Vandy is probably the 11 am SEC Network game.

Third third Saturday in October is sacred.

Alabama-Tennessee is the greatest rivalry in the history of the Southeastern Conference.

No other game matters on that blessed day.
