That LSU fans might have been right this season, when they said it’s amazing how many 50/50 b/s calls went against LSU pitchers?

Seriously wondering after watching this clown behind the plate tonight and how badly he obviously wanted to punch out Tiger batters, it makes me wonder if our pitchers suffered from the inverse of our hitters tonight.

Not saying it would have changed the season, 3 pitch strikeouts prove how bad some can be at the plate.

But with the stretch of LSU scoring over 8 runs in so many consecutive games, it’s got me wondering if pitchers had to throw meatballs to get calls.

Imagine if Derek Curiel’s LSU career had ended on that call

Give me ABS all day every day and take the ball-strike calling away from the umpires across all of college and pro baseball. There’s too much money in play these days for human error to factor into outcomes

I will say Arrambide showed an excellent judgement on challenging, which bodes well for next year

Bad plate umps will be neutralized and less influenced by the environment too

Is this being implemented in the SEC regular season next year? That's great if so

It feels like SEC umps have been squeezing SEC pitching for 10+ years now. Then every SEC pitching staff is All American when post season starts and someone else is calling balls and strikes.

I’m unaware of any decision on that for next year, but they’re not getting this cat back in the bag

I imagine each ballpark will need the tech, but at least this tournament will definitely have it

I would expect some announcement prior to the draft

There has to be an incentive for umpires to make better calls. There is no reason for a call to be over 6 inches off the plate being called a strike. Maybe a punch to the gut.

Do you think calls only went against LSU?

How many of these were there? I don’t think I saw a single pitch the was 6 inches off the plate and called a strike.

Come on, man. This may be an exaggeration, but that last overturn was egregious. No college or minor league ump should ever blow a call that badly in a fricking tournament game. To END a tournament game. That was clown car shite.

This ump wasn’t favoring anyone. He just really fricking sucked at his job and he was absolutely exposed right from the 1st inning.

No. His bungling of the pinch runner situation was insane and just as bad as the many overturns we hit him with. He was in over his head.

If they're going to enforce it, they need a consistent, accurate strike zone. Not the bullshite they made up for the SECT.

Every SEC park should already have it.

I don't see them doing it for a full season, but who knows. Again, I like it if they get an accurate zone. I didn't like the expanded zone they used in Hoover. Still, the umpires in this league are terrible.

If an MLB umpire missed the Curiel K by that much, he would be back in the minors before the series ended.

That was a call that should never be made at this level of baseball.
