One of the local guys mentioned this on talk radio this morning. Thought it was an interesting topic. Said even though Miss state is better we had low expectations back then.
What say the rant?

We didn’t pay them to beat us, so no. Also add in the attrition, opt outs, covid, and last season and it’s not even in the same ballpark. Troy loss almost spiraled the program into the bottom, we don’t beat Georgia in 2018 and regain faith in the brand and we might be mid tier Sec

Honestly, MSU ain’t that bad. Leach can cover up many shortcomings with that offense. And, they played us a pretty decent game last year.

After the Troy loss I was pretty damn sure the program was going to go straight back to where it was in the 90s

This loss wasn't even in the same stratosphere as that Troy loss

Natty, optouts, Covid, no fans in Stadium. I am just glad to see football. This season is a wash anyway and does not even count against eligibility. So NO

2 games before Troy LSU went to Starkville and lost by 30.

This loss doesn’t even register when compared to those two.

Lol anyone who says that it’s worse than Troy is a true bandwagon fan that likely started following LSU in November of last year.

By far the worst LSU games of the past 15 years

1. 1/9/12
2. Troy
3. Yeldon Screen
4. State winning 37-7

Last Saturday sucked but wasn’t that bad. You lost to an innovative play caller, experienced and talented QB and your breaking in a new team and coaches.

Bo Pelini found himself in hot water after the first game though. All of sudden I’m starting to remember him giving up 50+ to Arkansas and Kentucky.

He has to right the ship fast. He’s not a dominant recruiter so if he gets worked on the field then he’s useless

Not even close. That stretch of the 2017 season was some of the worst football LSU has played in a long time. Got our arse kicked by Mississippi State and Troy. I wasn't sure O would make it past his first season at that point

I do feel bad in this sense. This game made Florida, Bama, Auburn and A&M (not so much A&M) look like big ol fat L's. For now anyway. This next few games better be the biggest fix in the history of getting shite together. OR this gonna be a long season.
