No. Maybe take one game if we were lucky.

The main problem was that we couldn’t hit Florida’s pitching worth a damn in that big ballpark at a time when the bats were designed to be unfavorable to the hitters.

Both teams should be at full strength on the mound if you’re gonna play a 3 game series for the national title. Otherwise you aren’t actually going toe to toe to see who the best is.
Yes you are. Both teams start the CWS fully rested. If they dispatch their side easily, and have a rested staff, that’s an advantage they earned, not one that was granted.

No, Walker was good but he wasn’t a dominant force like that.
You don't remember freshman Eric Walker then

Sure I do. 87 mph fastball, average secondary stuff but he could throw the ball in a soup can and was an ultra competitive pitcher. He had a good year and I’d want him pitching big games but pitching wasn’t the problem in that championship series. i didn’t understand the narrative then and I still don’t.
People here make it sound like it was a certainty that he was going to throw a cg shutout. I know I’m in the minority but I just think Florida was better that year

This is one reason there needs to be a couple more days between the bracket play and finals series.
Omaha needs to be a final 4, first weekend is the semis, two three game series and then the final weekend a three game series. Maybe first weekend you do sat, sun and Monday then championship series Friday, Sat, Sun. That way it's totally fair pitching wise

In my opinion we would have had a 50% chance of winning game 2, then a 60% chance to win game three. So 50% chance we lose the series with no game three then a 20% chance we lose the series with a game three, so 70% chance we lose the series; 30% chance we win it.
You can argue with my guesses of 50% and 40% chances of losing those two games, but the math is simple:
Take one half of the chance of losing a game three if it were to occur and add that to the chances of losing game two. The answer is the chances of losing to Florida.
If you think our odds of winning game two were 70% and 60% for game three, then your answer is 50/50.

I remember LSU and other teams were actually hitting hrs that cws.
I think the weather changed for the series against Florida and there was basically no chance of a hr being hit.
Does anybody else remember that?

LSU had nobody other than Lange that were on Brady Singers or Alex Fiados level. And Fiado would have been rested and ready for gm 3. So no, even with Walker LSU still loses.

I don't think this is correct.
UF had lost a game to TCU and Faedo pitched the elimination game of their bracket. He was basically in the same position as Skenes last year.
He may have thrown a few innings out of necessity but he wasn’t scheduled to start G3. Lange was scheduled to start G3 for us had we gotten there.
Singer pitched in G1. We lost 3-4. Who knows, it's baseball. But almost all evidence would suggest our options would have been better rolling with Walker than Reynolds in G1.

It’s still criminal that PM left Reynolds’s in to long after he did exactly what was asked of him.

Hess was out of gas by that time. He pitched great in Omaha , minus that last game of course.
