It’s a bit early.

I would be very surprised if that were the case

Welch should be good enough as a freshman to sub out a good bit as well. Haven’t heard much in him though

We have the best coaching tandem in the nation too with Bryan and Kelly.

Yup based on NFL projected alone but those rankings are silly that he's talking about. This secondary is either boom or bust who knows. Need a lot to come together for the safeties and cornerbacks.

Everything is a dynamic in team sports. The CB's could be 1 and 2 ranked but if you have no pass rush they will get annilated. Similarly, a great pass rush makes DB's look like All Americans.

That arguement was used here when the 2019 OL won the OL of the year trophy. Many on here said Burrow made them look good.

I think my point above is why Stingley and Ricks pulled out early last year. They saw their stock had nowhere to go but down because of weakness around them.

Arguably the worst 2 CBs we have lined up in over a decade. Is what it is

I have a hunch that Mekhi Garner is going to be a good one …..he could be in over his head like Darren Evans ….but my gut tells me he’s not

All I know is, I'm ready to field a secondary with no Divas.

True …but’s that’s more of a testament to the amount of talent we’ve had

the secondary is pretty stacked

Outside of Foucha, and I guess Brooks, we have ZERO proven talent against SEC offenses. Zero point zero. And those guys weren’t all-Americans or something at Arkansas. Solid, yes and Converse was great in the Big 12 which is pass happy. Similar to Banks/Gardner, promising but not proven against consistent elite WR’s. But right now at best we can be cautiously optimistic. STACKED is not the word. And that’s if we stay healthy with several guys coming back from injury. Hope we are but our secondary is the biggest question mark position on the team outside of tight end.

Mascona probably decided “ok fall camp day 1. I’m going to take LSU’s biggest question mark position, and argue it’s the best in the country” bc that’s what he does.

Gardner has to be a freak to play CB at 217.

How do they work together as a unit? How many blown assignments occur because the synergy of playing together (other than the two from Arky) is pretty non-existent?

I'm hopeful this is the best assembled of transfers ever created, but there's going to be some growing pains. Others have said if the backfield can play tight man coverage long enough for the line to eat, that could be the best outcome.

Weren't you the one saying he would be a safety?

He is not a safety.
