Does Leavitt need to be leaveled like Burrow was vs USF? Like bring out that dog in him

I kinda get the feeling Sam's that kind of competitor but just hasn't had it knocked into him yet, so he's still a bit skiddish.

Needs to cut down sleep from 10 hours to 8 hours and spend that extra time in the VR room

That is the most OVERRATED play of the last 10 years (maybe more) of LSU football. Burrow was a great competitor BEFORE that play. He didn't suddenly change his entire demeanor as a football player simply because he got the wind knocked out of him. What caused his tremendous rise in 2019 was LSU finally deciding to come out of the stone age on offense and allowing what would become a NFL HC to design and call plays.

He has too much Dog in him now. Needs to learn his progressions and stay in the pocket until the 2nd or 3rd option.

100% serious Burrow was like a 7/10 quarterback before he took that in the bowl game against UCF (Josh Heupel coached UCF I might add). That hit was so hard it somehow re-wired his brain to make him into the GOAT he is today. I truly believe that.

That was a crazy hit. He just jumped up like it was nothing. He is a tough dude there is no doubt about that.

Yup. He's got plenty of dog in him. He's tough and fearless. Think he settled in nicely in 2H last week and expect a big game from him Saturday. One thing I hope they're working on is extending the play with his abilities, rather than bailing at first sign of pressure. That's where the big down field shots will show up.

I want to know the over/under on Leavitt surviving the whole season. At the current pace there’s no way he lasts more than 8 games. no chance.

Yes, it had nothing to do with the fact that his OC (in practice, not in name only) the next year was the guy who now has the top scoring offense in the NFL.
It was a play that was commonplace in football for decades. He showed grit by quickly bouncing back from it. But to act like it was some transcendent moment in his ability as a football player is ridiculous.

Again, good play in the sense he was able to shake it off and keep playing. But in terms of actual impact...it is GROSSLY overrated

No, he already plays like his hairs on fire and that’s the issue .
He acting just like jd5 did his first year. Just needs to settle in and see the field a little better . I think he will be fine.

This is nothing more than a player who missed almost a year of football including spring while learning a new up tempo offensive system. He’s not going to click right away and doesn’t have that alpha receiver like Burrow and JD had now that Green is out. They actually had multiple alpha receivers. I trust kiffen and Weiss to get him there sooner rather than later.

Expecting every LSU quarterback to magically transform into Burrow or JD is unrealistic. With Sam we just need to hope he can take steps to become an average SEC quarterback

Big difference burrow had chase/Jefferson. Jd had nabers/ Thomas. Those dudes are not on this roster
