Does Kling do better going to a smaller school and putting up better batting numbers

Or stay at LSU and risk poor batting during SEC play?

Think he stays and works on getting better

I expect him to transfer now that the season is over. He seems like a great teammate and a hard worker, with huge upside, but he simply can’t hit at an SEC level.
I expect the coaching staff to have this conversation with him. I expect him to transfer to a smaller school, or maybe Penn State. He could probably start there and I think he could put up solid numbers against BIG 10 or G5 pitching.
I posted earlier this season that a guy I played JUCO with and played HS ball against him told me he wasn’t a good hitter after he signed here. I didn’t believe it based on his ranking, but I see it now.
You can just tell he’s uncomfortable and doesn’t have what it takes to hit SEC pitching. If he wants to stay and compete, however, I’m all about it and he would have my respect.

Same was said of Kramer until his last year. Then magically he could hit.

I’d rather him stay @ LSU.

I'm thinking he will get it together at the plate and realize his potential. He was excellent defensively and on the base paths this season.

Remember Andrew stevenson

Same, but I understand if he goes somewhere where is guaranteed ABs. You have to get ABs to get better. You don't become a better hitter by watching.

I suspect Kling will transfer.

Hope he and everyone else who reasonably can (don't expect Tanks to) stays.
He will be a junior and realistically he's behind Pearson, Brown, and Larson. If Braswell leaves, Milam moves to SS, and Pearson to 2B, then maybe it opens a place for him in the OF. Else, I think he leaves just to get on the field somewhere.

I know this is hard for some of you to believe, but Kling improved significantly throughout the second half of the year, including against SEC pitching. If there is one thing that should be obvious to all LSU baseball fans, it is that we need quality defense in CF. We had 5 misplayed fly balls in the OF during the last 2 weeks of the season and 3 of them were in CF.
While Kling's final stat line isn't impressive, it's much better than it was by the end of March. If he comes back, there is a good chance he could be exactly what we need him to be.

So every scout, college coach, recruiting service, etc was wrong about him but your JUCO buddy knew the real goods? Right

I have a buddy who played travel ball against David Price and hit a home run off of him in 9th or 10th grade. We used to make fun of him when he'd talk about how overrated he actually was.

Same. I would also point out that even when Kling is sitting, he is always positive and very supportive of his teammates.

Kramer got shite on so bad. Albeit, he was pretty damn awful early on. And then final year, everything came together beautifully.
Let’s hope Kling takes the same path for us. We’re pulling for him.

Two other guys I can think of like that were Little and Helmers.

If he's playing college baseball next season I'd prefer it be at LSU. He's on the cusp of a breakout and it would be awesome to see it happen here than somewhere else.
If he gets a chance to go pro and someone gives him a good amount of money, can't begrudge that either.

Neal is similar IMO, very close to breaking out offensively

I hope he stays, but I think it's very possible that he transfers. My main reason isn't that he can't improve, because I think he can. It's more about the uncertainty. He could transfer to many schools around the country and basically be guaranteed a starting position. He won't have that guarantee here. Now he could definitely stick around and improve and have a great year his junior and/or senior year, but is it worth the risk of possibly being in school for 4 years and losing his leverage in the draft.
