Does anyone really think there will be a football season this year?

As painful as it is I just don’t see it happening based off of current events. I just can’t imagine them allowing 100k people in stadiums 5 months from now even if conditions have dramatically improved out of fear of another outbreak. Gonna be a shitty fall.

Don’t see it happening either. Unless a wonder drug or vaccine comes out by July

It will start but my fear is it returns in November and shuts it back down and that’s from medical personnel I deal with on another issue

We all knew the first 2 weeks of April would be the worst. We also know that mortality rates are likely still vastly overstated due to asymptomatic cases and limited test capacity. Everyone (I.e former Big 12 Presidents) needs to chill, let’s focus on the next 2 weeks, and refrain from making statements when we really have no idea what the situation will be in 1 month, let alone 4 or 5. Economics alone say it’s unlikely the season is entirely scrapped.

If the Texas game is cancelled, they will never, ever return that trip.

A football season would be a wonderful surprise. I don’t see a full one happening,
but I suppose anything’s possible.

We don’t know. We do know though that based off of what is going on right now that packing 10s of thousands of bodies into stadiums around the country 5 months from now seems highly unlikely.

If they can’t get this shite under control to some extent by the fall then the researchers suck arse. It should not take five months for them to figure out something that can improve the situation regarding the spread and prevention of this virus.

My best guess is NFL will play in front of empty stadiums.

Is that possiblr for NCAA to do, i feel like that isnt plausible because most programs will need the ticket money to sustain.. But then again I dont really know

there will be some kind of treatment or "cure" probably before a vaccine. Lots of things in the works that look very promising and with the whole world working on this it will be way less than a year i think. Even Dr. Fauci thinks it could be November. My guess is football happens but not in Sept.

Football in college almost falls into the "too big to fail" category. I could see them moving the schedule back to after Jan.1 before they start. I would have to believe that Football will take precedence over all other sports in terms of getting back on the field and back on TV.

Saw a story today about some potential options AD's are discussing if normal season is not happening. One I thought of and they had as #1 was late fall start and finish in mid spring. They realize that football drives most all of the campus sports and without that money many of the others wont happen.
