Les Miles is the OC.. we changed oc and the offense looks the same

When Cam was first introduced as LSU OC, Cam himself mentioned that this is Les' team. It probably means Cam prepares and trains the team according to Les' philosophy/style because that was the deal.

I didn't like the hire in the beginning. Then, our offense improved drastically. Then, it regressed.

Now? I'm not sure he is the problem.

It's CLM's philosophy that continues to cripple his teams and when it doesn't work, he has no adjustment.

How many OCs need to be made into scapegoats?

How many OCs and nothing changes offensively before people realize it's the one constant?

It's good to see people FINALLY starting to realize this. Since 2008 LSU has had 5 different starting QBs and 3 different OCs. Yet, except for 2013, the offense (especially the passing game) has had some real struggles and has taken basically the same approach year after year. There is only one constant during that time. Changing OC's is going to do nothing unless the offensive philosophy of the HC changes.

To be fair, LSU doesn't need to completely revamp the offense. However, they've got to become less predictable and Les has got to be willing to trust his QB to make plays over all parts of the field, even if that means the risk of a few more turnovers is increased. If the goal is to have 8-10 win seasons, then fine, keep the status quo. If the goal is to win the SEC, then I think it's clear to everyone now that slight adjustments have to be made. This is an explosive group of skill players. No defense, not even Alabama's should be able to completely swallow them up.

Whatever his role in the offense is, it's obvious we are not getting ROI on the $1.5 million. For an Athletic Department that's always focused on costs, this just doesn't seem like money well spent.

LSU offense won't change until Miles tenure is over. Accept it and you'll be happy.

helps when you have a guy with major NFL talent as your QB...and great WR's and RB I think we could have had better numbers with an open minded HC and OC that wasn't hamstrung by his HC

2013 wasnt as great as people remember. The offense was great at the beginning then went to complete and utter shite again midway through the year

That's becaus Stuf was Never supposed to be our OC he filled in when Kragthorpe got diagnosed with Parkinson'sz we weren't all of a sudden gonna run a spread option at that points

People are fricking retarded. They don't remember anything. Our offense has changed under every OC we've had. We have had problem in the past with consistent OLine and QB recruiting.

Ah, yes. The obligatory character attacks that have come to be expected from the Sunshine Pumpers/Les Miles Fan Club.

Did anyone catch AFR yesterday evening with Alan Risher. He said how he would love to be our OC. He knows some where with in the playbook they have a screen pass, swing pass or a a draw play drawn up.

But, I agree it really doesn't matter who our OC is because Miles is making the calls or at least dictating the calls that he wants run.

LSU doesn't gameplan to attack another teams' weakness. The gameplan is to minimize LSU's own offensive deficiencies, and rarely seems to change. LSU's inability to produce a consistent passing attack leaves nothing left but handing the ball off. Its an approach that puts more pressure on defense and special teams, but those units usually play so well that, most of the time, over the course of a game they handle it.

On the other side, opposing teams don't need a genius at defensive coordinator to sell out on stopping LSU's run game, and make them beat you with the pass. Against weaker teams, LSU is able to wear them down and out-talent them. Against elite teams, especially Alabama with Saban's typically stout run defense, it makes finding a way to win difficult.

Long story short, when the other team knows what your offensive gameplan is, whether its an elite team or an average team or a bad team, beating that team is more difficult.

To me the key game that year was the loss at Athens. Up to that point it appeared that Miles was actually letting Cameron do some things with the offense, but instead of putting the blame for the loss (the only time LSU ever lost when scoring forty or more points) squarely on the defense where it belonged, Miles went into his shell again the next week against Florida and put the clamps on the passing game.

Les is not going to change his offensive approach and that is the MAIN reason coach Saban and Alabama continue to kick our butt--year after year after year....Not to hard to figure out what we are going to do
