Does losing three games in a row matter? Does losing twice in three games where LSU is a double-digit favorite matter?

The debacle in College Station makes this bowl game matter a lot.

No.

We cannot have that mindset.

As I sat around yday watching Army/Navy game I thought God I wish LSU was playing football today, hell yes it means something. LSU is back in the discussion of Big Time College Football talk. Just think if the season would’ve gone as many thought 6-6,7-5, or 8 wins being the max. Think how miserable this board is over winning 10 games can u imagine 6 or 7 or for shite sakes no bowl game. The future is bright and expectations are high especially if we win that 10th game. It’s not where we want to be but it sure beats the alternative!

After the last two seasons, hell yes it means something. We are rebuilding a program and 10 wins is a dam good start.

It’s all about context and expectations. LSU fans were ecstatic about a 10-3 record in 2001 just 2 years after finishing 3-8. It also helped that they were SEC Champions and won the Sugar Bowl and it came 43 years after LSU’s only National Championship. LSU fans should be happy about a 10 win season when considering the state of the program and the roster after last season. But too many fans will look at in the context of where the program was 3 years ago and harp on the 2 losses this year (FSU and 8&4) and that his should have been a 12 win season.

Dumb. By that train of thought, all Major League Baseball players batting averages are F’s.

For LSU this year, given preseason expectations, I think it would be a significant milestone.

To be honest at this point, even if LSU loses the bowl game, the results of this season blew expectations out of the water.

I would be thrilled to end the season with 10 wins, but that Purdue back is going to push our shite in all game.

Bring in baseball, I would equate a 10 win season to a batting average over 300

10 wins is a goal

Well, at least try to use a train of thought before you hit submit next time. The best batting avg in the MLB was .326. A player hitting at 60% of that best is batting around .195. Is that a successful season to you?

Currently there are no teams with 5 losses in the Top 20. These are the other teams with 4:
USCe
Texas

I dont look at those schools and see success, elite, primed for a run next year

That's exactly the reason Coach Brian Kelly is directing this team, and you're not

It’s not just a normal 10 wins season. It’s a 10 win season that includes beating Alabama and winning the west. It also comes after two years with a combined losing record.

I don’t know about prestigious, but winning 10 games while you playing in the SEC it’s pretty damn good.
