Well, at least try to use a train of thought before you hit submit next time. The best batting avg in the MLB was .326. A player hitting at 60% of that best is batting around .195. Is that a successful season to you?
Currently there are no teams with 5 losses in the Top 20. These are the other
teams with 4:
USCe
Texas
I dont look at those schools and see success, elite, primed for a run next year
I think my train of thought is just fine because I’m using perspective. Also, I’m specifically referencing the second statement in your post. You cannot equate sports record or stats to letter grades in school. In any given season, the best QB completion percentage is typically upper 60’s. By your scale, that’s an F. Drew Brees has the all-time career record at 67.7%, with a single-season record of 74.4%.

I think 4/5 losses says more Thats a 60-68% winning percentage Thats a D/F in most grading sustems
The problem is that very few teams will finish the season undefeated. In fact, only 1 of the playoff teams will finish undefeated. A grade based solely on wins and losses is just not the best way to do this. We want to be at a point where we are consistently in a position where 2 losses is our floor and we are competent for those playoff spots. But, that’s not where this team was supposed to be. For this year, 9-10 wins IS a good season. I certainly wouldn’t give this season an F. But you would, based on your grading scale. Again, perspective.

It’s more than 9 or less ain’t it?

There are 130 D1-FBS teams. Less than 20 May Finish with 10 wins. Not a bad group to be in. It’s a nice accomplishment .

10-4 looks way better than 9-5.

I am critical of Kelly, however, they go out and win the bowl game by just 1 pt and get that 10th win, then he's done a fantastic job this year.

Yes it means something. It’s the new Gold Standard of a very good season. In fact only about 30 teams out of 132 teams will get 10 wins…..
