I find it really hard Washington has the loudest stadium

I went to a game there last year with some buddies of mine, where we choose a college football game to attend together every year. I was surprised. Husky Stadium was pretty darn loud. Don't know what it is in terms of decibels, but it's definitely one of the loudest stadiums I've ever been to, including Tiger Stadium. They were playing USC in that game, by the way.

Yes that's the best way, but you can An still be removed from the stadium for it.

It's in the tiger stadium policy.

You may be removed for using artificial noise makers, there is no list of what they determine noise maker

How to scream as loud as you can, per wikiHow

quote:

1 When you breathe in, try to breathe from your stomach, not your chest. This requires practice. Put your hand on your stomach and breathe out, feeling your abdominal muscles contract. When you breathe in, they should expand. It should feel like sipping through a straw. Imagine drawing air from the bottom of your lungs, not the top. Do this a few times until it feels comfortable and you can do it without pressing a hand to your stomach. A practice scream should feel like something (namely your stomach muscles) is pushing it out of you by contracting around your lungs. It should not hurt.

2. Scream in a higher pitch. Higher notes are generally more audible. They cause longer soundwaves, which hit people's ears that much harder. Even if you're male, let loose like a little girl. (Don't try to hard, mind you. Forcing your voice into a high note that is incongruous with your usual tone or higher than natural for your voice can cause minor injury.)

3. Try to avoid tipping your head back to do so. You may assume that a higher note means "I should hold my chin higher", but tilting your head backward can actually put excess strain on your vocal chords and make it harder to produce sound. So don't do it.
Optimum volume is achieved when you hit the perfect note, frequency, and force of exhalation. This is the level at which glass shatters and dogs howl. If you can't get this amplitude, don't sweat it. Usually only professionals can. If you get anywhere close, count it as a success. In the best case scenario, you'll be loud enough to temporarily deafen your assailant. Don't count on it.

4. N/A

5. Don't be afraid to keep it up. Even if your throat rips, don't stop that scream. Saving your neck is more important than sparing your windpipe. If you have to stop because you're hit or run out of air, drag in another breath and scream again.

6. Try to avoid gasping. Even if it seems to waste time, taking a deep breath only takes about a second, two if you really draw in, and a longer, louder scream is more effective than one that is short-lived and oxygen-deprived.

7. Do not stop screaming. This cannot be emphasized enough. No matter what does or does not happen, is or is not inflicted upon you, keep screaming.

8. Though you may feel inclined to breath in through your nose, do not do that. Your nose IS the most direct passage to the lungs, but don't let that fool you. Breath in through your mouth, as you let more air in that way. When time matters, you want to get the most air in in the shortest time.

Found this online --- somebody drop $100 and pick up 1000 or so...

They sell them at the LSU fan gift shops... less than $5, I believe.

Ahh but it's not making artificial noise. It's a real noise enhancer. Does Viagra give you a fake penis?

It's technically not making the noise.

And maybe you can sneak in some air horns and use them on very selective plays. Just don't get caught.

Good way to forfeit your seats and lower the noise level. Don’t do this

You are correct but I seem to remember years ago it was said that these are still considered artificial noise makers

I just hate to have LSU penalized for something like this and it would suck to be removed from the stadium also

We just might have to go with breaking out the bottom of plastic cups until we can get an official ruling.

You can also roll up a program in the shape of a megaphone. Innocent enough.

Plastic megaphones are not allowed but cow bells are.

Here is the ambiguous rule:

quote:

Artificial Noise-Makers
Policy: Southeastern Conference rules do not permit artificial noise-makers to be brought into or used in Tiger Stadium. Anyone found violating this policy is subject to ejection and item is subject to confiscation.

Keep being creative. Need to make as much noise as possible without getting kicked out.

They won't be removing anyone from the stadium for cutting a hole on the bottom of a cup.

Pretty sure you wont be allowed to bring g a megaphone Into the stadium. Aren't artificial noise maker banned, which would include megaphones also.

Not correct... you mayhave an issue if you tried to bring in one of those full sized cheerleader megaphones and an electronic megaphone would be banned... but a "cone" i.e. 8" mini megaphone is actually sold at the Tiger gift shop.

I have 2 and bring them to games all the time. 1 purple, 1 yellow.

A plastic cone megaphone is NOT an artificial noisemaker and they are not banned by this policy.

they are actually sold at the Tiger Gift shop.

I have 2 and bring them all the time. Never an issue... occasionally a person with ringing ears a few rows below me will give me the "stink eye" so I try not to direct it right at anyone --- but I for sure direct it at the field and yes it significantly intensifies the sound that I am making... naturally.

Well that's good to know, guess my memory isn't to great these days. Swore I remembered this being an issue when a special exception was made for the cowbells and people wanted to bring these in but were stopped.
