My thing is I don’t see why people are rooting for Myles other than wanting a feel good story like I said before there’s a reason why he only had small school offers when he hit the portal

Maybe you have trust issues from O. He is gone now. We finally have a grown-up, competent coach. He seems to be strategic and analytical with every move he makes. I'm sure he'll make the right decision on what's best for his team.

Do you trust coaches to choose the right qb?
Now, all that being said, sometimes coaches whiff. Even the great Bill Belichick started Drew Bledsoe over Tom Brady. More recently, Dan Mullen started Felipe Franks over Kyle Trask. Only injuries allowed the better QB to be revealed, and yet those coaches had watched those two guys in practice every day.
So coaches sometimes get it wrong. Now Brian Kelly is a great coach and I trust him to get it right.
But coaches do get it wrong sometimes.

Yes, they are paid way too much money to not play the guy that gives us the best chance to win

Will be Brennan out of the gates, so yes
Do I trust the length of their leash or replacement threshold? Probably
Brennan has the talent but if he hasn’t been leader enough to get in-sync with all the primary receivers or have the team respect, buy in and play for him, we probably need to go another direction.

Mmmm. Nah. I trust Kelly to make the right call.
I actually trusted O to make the right choice at QB. The play calling and preparation is where he got questionable for me.

Who is rooting for him?
You mean thinking he will be the starting QB = rooting for in your mind?

People will melt regardless. First time?

If he plays like Joe Burrow, he will be considered the right choice by 99% of The Rant. Anything less will be highly debated.

No, only Slidell Cajun should be able to pick.

I think we have to be open to the possibility that the coaches know what they want and will make the right choice in the best interest of the team.
For the life of me, I cannot think of 1 reason why coaches would NOT know what they want or make the right choice in the best interest of the team. Even bad coaches will seek to do this.

They've already said they will conduct a straw poll on Tigerdroppings and let us decide the QB position.

Yes I do for the first time in a long time. Seniority was too highly valued under the prior two regimes.

No I only trust fans who are all knowing of QB development and Dan Marino

I would like for Daniels to start because if he TRULY develops, he's the only ALL SEC level QB on this roster for THIS YEAR. He has the experience, he has enough arm, he has the gamebreaker ability and he's ran offenses similar to this. If Daniels hasn't improved though, it's easy to swap to another QB.
Brennan seems like the safe play, but I think he'd be better in a pass happy offense. His immobility is a major problem, and if you people think I'm just talking about running, you're wrong. I really don't like that he can't give us any rushing threat at all. Burrow running for 3rd down and big game saving runs was another big reason why we improved down the road in 2018 and won it all in 2019. Escaping and keeping the play alive is now heavily coveted even in the NFL.
Nuss scares me because I know he still has some of that gunslinger mentality in him, and not the good kind. I'm talking about the 'throw it into traffic a lot' kind. He looks good in practice, but I just have this feeling that he's going to get into a lot of trouble this year if he's the starter. I feel like he'd run the offense really well, and score good enough too, but the freshman mistakes...

Coaches don’t necessarily “choose” a starting QB. One tends to separate themselves. If one doesn’t, that can either be a really good or really bad problem to have.
Posted on 8/9/22 at 2:48 pm to SlidellCajun
Yes, because CBK isn't loyal to one guy.
If he picks a bad starter, we got studs right behind him. If he picks a great starter, then we winning.

The question is-
Do you trust them?
Hell no, only the hall of fame coaches on the Rant have my trust in naming a starring qb.

There are still people that swear up and down that we beat Bama if Jarrett Lee plays on 1/9/12, so what do you think tRant trusts?
