So Jefferson has more touches and catches...

I’m not sure there was ever a WR1 as you define it.

Jefferson is a faster Jarvis Landry.

s far as the comparison of Chase to Beckham, Beckham is a combination of Chase and Jefferson. He is a quicker version of Landry and a faster version of Chase plus his hands are equal to or better than both. Beckham would also block.

Landry and Beckham CAUGHT >1000 yards in a Les Miles offense with Jeremy Hill at RB!! That is how impressive those 2 were!!

With a good year, he can certainly be a first round pick. Pass Chase? There may be a team that values a more current performance vs. the combine & year old stats. Absolutely possible imo.

What’s the biggest difference between them? I would assume Chase is faster? And Marshall is bigger? Both great route runners with amazing hands . Marshall is probably a better target in the red zone.

No! Anyone asking that does not realize what we had in Chase - the best WR in the history of the program as a sophomore!

No doubt IMO. He has the prototypical size/speed the NFL seeks. Marshall has the opportunity to put up big numbers, especially YAC & in the red zone, and make his mark as a 1st rd pick. I bet at the combine or LSU Day he will also shine with his ATH skills. Don't sleep on Racey either. Same type of YAC guy with a NFL-type build. He won't high point a ball like Marshall, but he'll take that 10 yard slant to the house.

One of Chase’s most unique features is his versatility. He can line up outside or in the slot and be equally effective. He’s also a great runner with the ball so he can catch a screen and take it to the house. Marshall is a very talented WR but not as versatile. He is more of a prototypical outside WR with great size and speed. He does not have the quickness or after-the-catch ability of Chase (very few do). LSU will have to utilize multiple players this year to do what Chase could do alone. That is what makes Chase so good. Barring unforeseen circumstances, he will be the first WR off the board next year in the draft.

I don't know if Marshall can catch him now; ironically I thought he had a slight chance to do so with Chase still here.

I think if Marshall stays healthy, he's an easy 1st rd choice now. He should become the go-to guy along with Gilbert.

No, and I wish people would stop this shite. Not just with Marshall, but all these other WRs as well. Not one got damn WR is going before Chase. It's obvious either the lot of you are still hung up on him leaving or can't recognize a future All Pro player when you see him.

It's been a while since I've seen a WR beat teams on just pure dominance. Several WRs have put up 1600+ yards and 15+ TD seasons over the last 10 years, but none of them looked like a grown man playing with children. This guy went against the best corners and safeties all year and made them look like clowns. Dragged his nuts on multiple first and second round DBs like it was just a given.

This guy is as obvious a top 5 talent as AJ Green and Julio Jones when they came out.

Injuries. If he started game one his rookie year, he would have had over 1600 yards and 16 TDs. No other WR ever came close to that as a rookie except for Moss. He also lost out on a chance at a 1400 yard 10 TD season when he got hurt after 12 games a couple years ago (1052 yards 6 TDs)

Yes,has size, good hands, not afraid to compete this season so why not? Will see what happens but I can see why LSU ranked #6 in pre season polls as much as LSU have lost or the players have no interests to play. Prove it on the field like in 2019 that are the best.

I expect he will and it will cause Chase to question his decision. But it was still the right decision, Marshall was about to pass him up anyway.

Excellent topic based on the replies.

Of course I hope so. No small task to pass a Belitnikoff winner as a sophomore and I doubt Chase will do anything to hurt his stock this year.

So if Terrace were to have that unbelievable a year I wouldn't complain.
